Until the release of ROTS on 5/19/05, I would like to discuss AOTC chapter by chapter on the DVD. There are 47 chapters to discuss over the next eight months, excluding Chapter 1: Opening Logos, Chapter 2: Attack of the Clones and Chapter 50: End Credits.

Each discussion will last 5 days. At the end of 5 days, the following chapter will be posted.

    Chapter 30: Anakin's Search
    DISCUSSION: January 11, 2005 - January 15, 2005
    DVD TIME INDEX: 73:58 - 75:19

    Synopsis:
Anakin stares out into the desert. Padme coming out of homestead. Anakin says that Padme must stay with the Lars until he returns. They are good people and can be trusted. They hug and kiss. Anakin takes off on Owen's speeder bike saying he won't be long. Padme remains watching. The padawan takes off into the desert on the bike. He stops at a sandcrawler asking for information about the Tuskens. The Jawa points Anakin in the direction and the two separate going back to what they were doing. END OF CHAPTER

    Opinion:
This is the last time we see Anakin as a full-fledge child and finally experience some fateful events not exactly in his favor. This obviously is Anakin's scene and is well done in numerous aspects.

We have the sendoff from the homestead into the desert, which is sad because what he is about to experience is life changing. Padme's starting to come out of here shell a bit more, which is good. Ending the first half with the Force theme was a very good move as well as having Padme stand alone, which is true cinema before our very eyes.

The second half of the chapter, where Anakin begins his pursuit is a good mini-montage with a good prequel theme, the ever-memorable Duel of the Fates. I love how the Force theme is blended into Duel of the Fates. One of the best moments for JW in scoring the film. Just like in TPM's Jedi Council scene, this is also at sunset. It's another beginning for the end theme. Anakin has relates to orange and fire very well.

The cameos from the Jawas is always welcome and shows them to be the kinder of the two species on Tatooine we've come to known. Short chapter, but good in the long run. The story is picking up a bit.

Take your thoughts to the other thread. It is obvious that you've plagiarized half of your post from Moleman.

Not to be mean, but why'd you start halfway through the movie?
