I thought for a new post idea, people could list movies that they like and others could comment or check them out. Please start your own list.

I will start with Mystic River with Sean Penn and Kevin Bacon, directed by Clint Eastwood.

Very well put together, very dark, but a couple weeks after watching I find myself still thinking about the movie and how well it was done. Due to age and time demands I find myself sleeping through lots of movies, but kept me awake until 1:30 in the morning, and that doesn't happen much anymore.

    so, a list of movies,

    like my favorite Bond Movies,

or just a list to let it be known what I have,

like all my Toshiro Mifune films.

    or perhaps, this is closest.

One of my favorite films is,

In Harms Way, staring John Wayne,

best actual (no cgi) use of the U.S. Navy in a film ever.
and best feel for the WWII era.

also Best "on the water" pending action music/sound.

also staring Patricia Neal, another favorite of mine,

    but then I like lists:)

    I think I get it,

everyone starts their onw "peronal" movie list,
that others can use as a way to focus on the view
    of any one individual.

ok, am off to start my owne thread and organinze
my entire movie collection (this could be worth 2 to 3 million posts)

My guess is that we all start are own thread.

which should add to the total post count so much,
I suggest that VIO get a medal of some kind:D

    It's a genius idea!

Mystic River was good, but I hate movies that leave me sad.

I agree with this. I also hate movies that have no ending (No Country For Old Men). I go to the movies to escape reality, not watch it.

Not seen it. Even after your glowing review, still no desire to. But I think I may need a hug.
