My top played songs are less representative of what songs i like and more representative of what comes up on shuffle more often. That said I too have a bunch of Zelda songs in my top 100.

There is Bon Jovi on your list.

And figure out where the asterisk is on your keyboard.

The second offense is banable. The first should be.

Tunes get added to my repertoire as I happen to hear them. I do not go looking for them.

Another forum called this "passive" listening as opposed to "active" listening (they were snobs who believed my preference was inferior and not worth discussing).

I care not who makes the music, nor what the meaning/intent behind it is. To me, only the sound matters (those same snobs called this a "self-imposed limitation" and derided me for it).

Any chance you could point out my mistake without getting all snotty?

How do I go about adding some censorship now that the edit time is expired?

Must have been a music forum. Or the YJCC.:p

You can always PM any online mod with a link to the thread explaining the situation. With stuff like language it doesn't really matter what their normal board is. Forum specific questions should go to either the forum mod who is online or any of the forum's mods if none are online.

    Got it, incidentally.:p

The fact that it is a 2LiveCrew song should be a clear indication that a comparison of the words in the title and the TOS is obligatory, I would think.

    Touche.

(And are you gonna bug me about the lack of an accent in THAT word???)

Just running it up the flagpole to see if anyone salutes. (Those music forum snobs didn't like my reason for posting either...)

2Live Crew's Banned in the USA is a great song; mainly because Springsteen's Born in the USA is a great song, but why quibble? Of their other songs, I really don't know why you'd pick one of their obscene, sex drenched, profanity laced tunes over any of the others; they're all kind of the same song, no? Why that one in particular? (And, yes, I've heard it).

Your Beastie Boys picks are different too; Heart Attack Man is one of my least favorite songs of theirs - what about Root Down? Fight For Your Right? Shadrach? Bodhisattv - well, okay, maybe not that one. Body Movin's great, though; I'm with you there.

But kudos for including anything by Hank Snow on your list; I heard this four CD set of his work and finished it convinced that he's every bit as talented and significant a figure as Hank Williams, but he's massively overlooked.

Oh, and, California Uber Alles? Still rocks harder than 98% of all other music ever. STILL.

But no Dylan? I call foul on that.

Why The **** Shop? The Van Halen riff helps, and I love how over-the-top it is (rap's equivalent of Pig Destroyer).

Here's every Beastie Boys song that I like, in no particular order:

    Body Movin'
    The Move
    Heart Attack Man
    Intergalactic
    Electrify
    Pop Your Balloon
    B-Boys In The Cut
Fight For Your Right (To Party)
    Sabotage
    Ch-Check It Out
    Brass Monkey
    In A World Gone Mad
Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun

I haven't heard every song that they've recorded, though - let me know what else you think I'd like!

All the best country was made before the 70's. Love Hank S., Hank W., Lefty Frizzell, & Slim Whitman.

And still RELEVANT now that Jerry Brown is back on the scene! :p

Almost all of "Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables" and "Give Me Convenience Or Give Me Death" is pure gold.

    BOB Dylan?

Here's what I think of HIM!

In all my years of posting music lists, I've never gotten a real critique until now. Thank you. [:D]

I find that creating a personal top ten is more practical.

Deceiver of Fools - Within Temptation
No Light, No Light - Florence and the Machine
Valarie - Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse
    Whirring - The Joy Formidable
    Bad Reputation - Joan Jett
    Kashmir - Led Zeppelin
    Shoot to Thrill - AC/DC
I Am Not A Robot - Marina And the Diamonds
Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) - Arcade Fire
    Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen

It took me the better part of a few hours to come up with this list. It's as close to a top ten that I can make, for my tastes as they are now. Tomorrow, I might have a few different answers; only about half the list if locked in firmly. Some near misses: Let It Be by the Beatles, Lust For Life by Iggy Pop, Na Na Na (Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na) by My Chemical Romance, Thriller by Michael Jackson, Morning Glory by Oasis, All Fired Up by Pat Benatar, and more.

    Word.

    I can do a top 10:

    1. Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400 (DJ Gius Remix)
    2. AC/DC - Who Made Who
    3. Majoma Music - CBC Olympic Theme
    4. Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
    5. Van Halen - Feel Your Love Tonight
    6. AC/DC - Guns For Hire
    7. Goldfinger - Superman
    8. Men Without Hats - The Safety Dance (Long version)
    9. The Rainmakers - Government Cheese
    10. Synergy - Disruption In World Communications

5 near misses, in no particular order:

    Lindsey Buckingham - Holiday Road
    Peter Schilling - Major Tom
    AC/DC - Hail Caesar
    Buddy Holly - Everyday
Jet Set Radio Future - Sweet Soul Brother (B.B. Rights Remix)

Also, AC/DC is by far my favorite artist (I have all the albums and several DVD's).

And here's three random tunes that just missed the top 100:

Zombie Nation - Forza (This specific version)
AC/DC - Touch Too Much (HTH version)
The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Middle Boss Battle

    *thumbs up*

i'm still trying to work out what the validity of personal top 100 lists is, as opposed to the ones published by some random magazine.

i guess they wouldn't use more than one song from each individual artist or something.

i think i'm getting old, as i cannot get worked up writing even my own top ten.

    it's just too fickle this.

Going by just the playcount in iTunes, making a top 10 for me is a little tricky, as I've listened to Disturbed's albums so much, them dominate not just my top 10, but my top 50.

So, to at least convey some of the variety of my listening habits (though, obviously, I listen to the Transformers soundtrack quite often as well ;0), I'll just go ahead and list the top 10 tracks that aren't a Disturbed song:

    1) Spectre General: Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way (Transformers: The Movie soundtrack)
    2) Game Over: Mega Man 3 Cataclysmic Clash (OCRemix.org)
    3) Stan Bush: Dare (Transformers: The Movie soundtrack)
    4) Basil Poledouris: Battle of the Mounds Pt.1 (Conan The Barbarian soundtrack)
    5) Stan Bush: The Touch (Transformers: The Movie soundtrack)
    6) Lion: The Transformers Theme (Transformers: The Movie soundtrack)
    7) N.R.G.: Instruments of Destruction (Transformers: The Movie soundtrack)
    8) Papa Roach: Not Listening (Getting Away With Murder)
    9) Basil Poledouris: Prologue/Anvil of Crom (Conan The Barbarian soundtrack)
    10) Skindred: Nobody (Babylon)

Hmm, maybe I'll just condense those Transformers and Conan tracks, ha...

    1) (Disturbed)
    2) (Transformers: The Movie Soundtrack)
    3) (Conan The Barbarian soundtrack)
    4) Game Over: Mega Man 3 Cataclysmic Clash (OCRemix.org)
    5) Papa Roach: Not Listening (Getting Away With Murder)
    6) Skindred: Nobody (Babylon)
    7) Alter Bridge: Metalingus (One Day Remains)
    9) Godsmack: I Stand Alone (Faceless)
    10) Sum 41: We're All To Blame (uncertain as to album- I only bought the single)

    Runners up:
-Dropkick Murphys: I'm Shipping Up To Boston (The Departed soundtrack)
-John Williams: Anakin vs Obi-Wan (Episode III soundtrack)
-Papa Roach: Stop Looking, Start Seeing (Getting Away With Murder)
-David Arnold: Kasuf Returns (Stargate soundtrack)
-Korn: Coming Undone (See You On the Other Side)

I'd have to think over a personal top 10 though.

This song simply cannot be argued with. Are you into the Dropkicks other than their track on The Departed soundtrack? You really have to hear Flannagan's Ball; it's their most ferocious, thunderous track, I think. It's on The Meanest of Times, which is a great, great Irish punk album.

I have a few other tracks of theirs (from a few albums)- after hearing that track on The Departed I downloaded a bunch of Irish/Celtic rock/metal tracks (Dropkicks & Skyclad primarly, a little from Flogging Molly and Seven Nations). I haven't heard that one yet, though- I'll check it out.

One of my favorites from them is Dirty Glass, just because it's pretty hilarious and nothing what you'd expect from the initial impression one gets of the song.

Blackout's just a great album in general. Kiss Me I'm ****faced is another hilarious song on that album.

Flogging Molly's album Swagger is a great example of Celtic rock, too.
