I've noticed some names that I've add have disappeared off my W.U.L and then I've had to re add them again. What causes this and can it be fixed?

the computer and website knows you secretly hate these people so they droped them from your list for you. :p

there have been alot of glitchs lately so this is not surprising.

Actually that's the truth, the Server hates people with vowels in their username. ;)

I can't honestly say I've ever noticed this problem. Unless the mods have heard of it perhaps you should look into your password security?

Are you maybe over the 100 name limit? If you try to add someone new when you're already at 100, the system simply won't add the person, although you won't get any error messages telling you what happened.

No one knows my password, it's the same password I was given when I signed up here. I didn't change it because I figured no one would ever figure it out.

didn't Gandolf say yesterday that three people disappeared off his WUL. He thought it was because they'd removed him, but in light of what DarthBabe is saying perhaps there is a new problem with the boards.

No, I'm only watching over 50 people.

People adding and removing you from their WUL is normal activity and should not automatically change it so you stop watching them(unless you decide to).

So yeah, I've never heard of this problem.

The people who disappeared from my WUL were not removed by me.

Were these all people you recently added, or were they long-time residents of your WUL?

Actually -- this is a question for Kadue and Gandolf (though Vert or Sape may know) -- is it possible to completely delete users from the system and, if so, would that have the effect of deleting "child-records" from the likely lookup table (e.g. user_id, watched_user_id) so the WUL would shrink as well?

Long time friends...my boyfriend for one,

Well, that would eliminate MY theory -- I'm fairly sure wild_karrde wasn't deleted from the system... ;)

I thought of that dp4m, but she said she readded them so obviously they were still there on the server.

If the username is deleted from the database, I'd imagine it would disappear from all WUL's... But it sounds as though they're still there, since she re-added them.

I was thinking if they were new additions to the WUL that it simply could have had to do with a database restore that lost a small period of updates, but that doesn't sound like what happened.

I'd change your password to be sure.

Also, it happened to Wild Karrde as well. I disappeared from his list. But this was a couple of weeks ago. And he disappeared from mine around the same time. And just today, someone disappeared my list.

It's happened to me recently as well. And I do not have 100 people on my WUL.

I'm going to venture a slight guess and say it's part of the reoccuring database problems we've been having lately.

Also, IGN just rolled out a new set of profiles for their boards, and there were a bunch of initial problems, and they've been playing around with them, so perhaps that has something to do with this.

are we get these new profiles,if so is this the reason for WUL problems?

Yeah, my "Who's watching you?" number keeps going down too. I assum eit's a database problem.
