Hmm, I'm not really sure, its hard to tell from only a couple of lines. Hopefully he sounds similar to TPM.

ANAKIN (AOTC): "I am a Jedi."

LUKE (ROTJ): "I am a Jedi, like my father before me."

    Cool.

I didn't really like the trailer at first. Now, I love it; I guess it had to grow on me. I like the shot of Jango blasting into the air with his double hand blasters blazing. The stuff with Slave 1 is also cool. I like the interactions between Anakin and Obi-Wan. Can't wait to see the trailer attached to Harry Potter.

The first time I saw the Mystery trailer, I let out this sound that probably made the people outside of my room think I was....doing something other than watching a Star Wars trailer. I was really excited, nearly popped out my eyeballs. :D

    I know, I know. TMI. [face_blush]

I got so excited. It was 8am when my dad woke me up with 'great news'. I was suddenly no longer tired and I couldn't get back to sleep. ;)

Firstly, thanks to those who helped me obtain the trailer last evening....

Seeing the Slave I guns-a-blazin' in these teasers has me pumped. Can't wait to see Fett (or is that the Fetts?) in action.

Maybe it's just me, but after seeing it with the logo in the two teasers, Attack of the Clones really isn't a bad title at all.

I've seen the trailer many, many times and remain psyched about Episode II. Fett, Slave I, Obi Wan, and Anakin are going to rock.

I just hope that the Hit and Miss report published in the TheForce.net's Episode II section on September 25 is wrong. This was a non-spoiler report, as opposed to the Hit and Miss report on Tue, Oct 02, 01 which was full of spoilers, and I did not read that report. Anyway, the non-spoiler eyewitness of 9/25/01, who was deemed a credible insider, said that the action scenes are excellent, but the character and romantic development between Anakin and Padme is quite weak and contrived. Some people at LFL/ILM joked in half-seriousness that they had better look for jobs elsewhere after EII.

I hope that either the insider's assessment was a statistically extreme reaction or that Lucas reshot the Anakin/Padme scenes and improved them. But I have a suspicion that the love scenes in that rough assemblage of footage would probably seem weak, particularly without the John Williams score.

And GL has six months to improve any glaring problems.

I thought the trailer was really cool, but there are some things that are quite annoying.

I have a problem with a certain Anakin Skywalker. What's up with his voice? I mean honestly he sounds really really stupid. The way he says everything is so slow and it just doesn't sound right.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

Also yoda in this trailer doesn't look half as impressive as in breathing trailer. I don't know what it is, but when I saw yoda speaking in this trailer it just looked really fake.

I was wondering if what we have seen so far is the final shots? Are they complete?

    Anyway, just what I think.

Honestly, I agree. Anakin's voice sounds too mechanical. From what I saw he may be no better than Jake. I have a bad feeling about this movie.

I think he's trying to make his voice fit in with Vaders.

    Hmmm.

    I rather dug Anakin's voice.

On the Yoda issue, I right there with many of you who think something is amiss. The brief shot of Yoda walking toward Padme is horrible, IMO. The shot of Yoda speaking isn't much better. Yet the shot in Breathing was quite good.

If those shots aren't complete, why add them to the trailer? Just pick a finished scene.

I was looking at the TPM trailer...specifically at Jar Jar (a first!) and it appears these shots of him were complete in the trailer. This does not bode well for those of us who rather just have Frank Oz and the puppet perform Yoda's scenes.

"CG Yodas and Jabbas? I need something more real."

    O-Qey?

Something I noticed that I don't think anybody's pointed out, yet. Look behind Padme when she says "Do you have any idea who's behind this attack?" Sure enough, it's Jar Jar, but he's wearing some VERY different clothing.

I wonder if he was promoted to be a bodyguard or something like that for Padme. Perish the thought! :)

On Anakin's voice: I didn't hear anything wrong with it. I think its a great voice for a Skywalker. Besides, its hard to judge how his voice will be throughout the whole movie when you only have 15 seconds or less of his voice in the trailer. :)

    Anakin saying things too slow???
Haven't you people heard Vader talk?
Not exactly Eddie Murphy, is it? ;)

Yeah, he has this sort of cold, removed tone to his voice, and it's definitely acting because Hayden doesn't talk like that in real life.

It looks like all the scenes in the trailer when Anakin talks happen before the love story really begins.

All this talk equating Jake Lloyd to Hayden when all we've heard is three or four lines is nonsense.

I guess you guys are right, we have only heard about 15 seconds of him talking, but in that 15 seconds I can pick two lines that made me shudder:

"I'm a Jedi" He says it like a big kid, it doesn't sound right. Unless he's really excited at seeing watto again.

"I decided to come and rescue you"
It just sounds stupid, especially when he says rescue.

I will get used to it though, but I've heard Hayden speak in interviews and I thought something similar to his own voice would be used for Anakin.

I hope some of these shots are not final, because some things looks really dodgy. Look at the breathing trailer and look at Yoda's right ear when he is turing to the camera. It doesn't look finished. So hopefully not all the shots are complete.

I liked Anakin/Hayden's voice, and didn't hear anything particularly wrong with the lines (all 5-6 of them). I think he'll make a great Anakin based on other things I've seen Hayden in and nothing in that whole minute of clips made me think otherwise. Can't wait to really see him in the film...does May have to be so far away? :D

Maybe someone has mentioned it already, but...

Is that Russell Crowe or Ewan M. as Obi-Wan in the last scene of Mystery? :)

If you go through that scene frame by frame, one wonders! The beard, the "gladiatoresque" setting, it must be. ;)

On a related note, it is nice to hear some of the Han-Solo-like humor back...TPM dreadfully missed that element.

It is an excellent trailer. As several have indicated, it is bereft of the farting, Disney-esque humor that so greatly annoy me, and yet manages to not take itself TOO seriously. Boy, I hope the movie itself is like that.

Forgive me if these have been mentioned, but I skimmed through the thread and didn't see anything overly definitive at a glance. Some things have been pointed out that I want to elaborate upon:

    - there is a scene with 2 Jawa Sandcrawlers, a human (looks like Anakin) and a Jawa standing in front, with the Jawa gesturing toward the 'crawlers. Oh yes, and a curious speeder bike of some sort. I remember seeing some footage on the EP1 DVD and George Lucas was sitting on that bike when they were questioning him about why he's filming something for Ep3 already in Tunisia. Now, this is my unspoiled guess, but I'm guessing that's Anakin and he's looking for C3PO. Perhaps C3PO got sold or something and someone along the way gave him some functional-yet-ugly coverings (perhaps explaining what we see in the 'Breathing' trailer).

    - The asteroid chase scene, shown twice in 'Mystery.' In the first, we have what looks like Slave One hot on the heels of a smaller craft. From what I've seen in various official sources, this smaller craft is the Jedi starfighter. And guessing (again) from other footage in the trailers, it looks like Obi-Wan is into some deep doo-doo with some underworld or otherwise shady entities, and that's Obi-Wan at the controls of that one. Someone wants him dead.

    - Explosion on the elevated tarmac on Coruscant: not sure what is happening here other than the obvious fact that those are Naboo soldiers getting knocked back (and with a Naboo fighter in background). A frame-by-frame analysis shows me the beginnings of the explosion. Looks like the explosion occurs on a ramp to a ship (perhaps Amidala's?) sending two guards flying. But if you look close, you can see what look like 2 white-robed figures near the bottom. If you ask me, these look like the ministers we see hanging around Chancellor Palpatine in the very next scene of the trailer.

    - ...Palpatine is indeed in the trailer. In fact, it looks like that scene is cast in his office on Coruscant. About a third of the way through, Amidala, Yoda, Mace, and various other Jedi are on a raised dais. Palpatine's in Supreme Chancellor garb, partially silhouetted in the window. The chair is of a style that makes me think it's HIS chair. And it makes sense since Mace is sitting at one of the guest chairs. Being spoiler free, I can only guess as to why they are all there. But if you'll recall, the 'Breathing' trailer shows Mace looking very troubled, with Yoda and several others walking down steps in the background. I can only wonder if Mace has trouble and Palpatine is pulling the strings, his true intent and identity still not discovered by the Jedi. Maybe the Jedi are asking their traditional go-to guy (the Supreme Chancellor) for help. :) SO COOL!

    - Amidala asking about those behind the attacks. Pretty straight forward, though there is a hint in Anakin's line that, when coupled with the look on his face, tells me he's getting very personally involved in the plot to attack her. And if you'll notice, Obi-Wan looks at Anakin with a look of concern or possibly disapproval. Maybe he's dismayed at Anakin not willing to be humble and let Obi-Wan do the talking and negotiating? Maybe he thinks he's getting too personally involved when they've got other things to do? Perhaps Anakin is making promises Obi-Wan doesn't feel the young Padawan can or should keep.

    - Escort the SENATOR to Naboo? SHE will be safer there? More advice and instruction from the Jedi Council. Sounds like trouble. Note Amidala's outfits aren't QUITE so outlandish, allowing her to be more mobile. I like the change. After all, if *I* were monarch or senator for a whole world, image or not I'd not be so motion-bound.

    - Who is that holding a gun and approaching Obi-Wan's back? Doesn't look to be the physique of a man, and it has a shiny

The apparently winged aliens reminded me a lot of Sebulba, even though you only get a really good look at one of them.

I am so very thrilled that the old wry humor has been added to this movie! No more fart jokes or Three Stooges humor, please!

On Anakin's voice: Don't you guys remember the voice change of Amidala between the trailers and the actual movie? You never can tell about this kind of thing from a trailer. LFL might be pulling our strings. :) From all that I have heard about how amazing Hayden is, I don't think we have seen anything yet!

Its okay that some of you are having doubts about certain parts of the movie based on the minute and 30 secs of footage we've seen so far...but I for one am very confident that this will be a very good movie. I'm not going to go so far to say it will be as good as Episode IV and V, but it should be a very solid SW movie. I'm suprised that so many of you have criticized the special effects. No one has seen this trailer on the big screen to judge it properly. I think that the FX look great. As for complaints about Yoda, even if you can tell he's CG, so what? Its not like you couldn't look at him before and say "He's a muppet." If you let yourself be taken away by the movie, like in TESB, you don't really notice it. As for Hayden's lines, I have confidence for a couple of reasons. First of all, the good reviews he received for Life as a House and his performance on Higher Ground. Secondly, I'm sure George was able to direct him much easier than a ten year old kid, and thirdly, we haven't seen much to judge yet. As for the Hit and Miss report, I'm sure most rough cuts of movies aren't that great, especially before the effects are finished. And someone else pointed out that the love story did not have accompanying music yet. That makes a huge difference. Take away the scoring for almost any emotional scene, and it will lose a lot of the impact. Take away the music for the trench run, and I would be that its pretty boring. I think Lucas once said something to the effect that ANH without scoring was horrible; JW's score made all the difference. Those are just my thoughts.
