N.E.W.B.I.E. and newbie: a distinction

This thread's still around. I posted my 3rd message at the JC in this thread. That was 4 months ago. Seems to me that we've had less N.E.W.B.I.E.s lately, since I haven't seen a lot of flaming. I could be wrong though...

I don't think there are as many N.E.W.B.I.E.s as there were around the Episode I release, but I thought it wise to educate the current poplulation on who exactly a NEWBIE is and why they are called that.

Let's not bash new users, but let's still call them newbies. In my two weeks as a padawan, I was never called a newbie, due to my passible threads and posts. It's just the few that logged on without lurking first that make the error. I say error to, because most merely post redunent threads, not anything that is flame worthy. I know there are a few trolls when starting out, but these are the exception to the rule.
