I think a fan film award website is a GREAT idea!

I would call it something simple like the 1st Annual TFN Fanfilm Awards.

Interesting reading between Halibut and JediTac....

I think deep down many people would like to see how thier fan film is rated by the people that see it. Certainly whenever I see a new fanfilm released, I ALWAYS compare it to TESBY, was it better or worse, were our costumes better? Was the fighting better?

If a director isn't bothered by who likes their fanfilm then why get it hosted? Why encourage people to see your film when you don't care for their views?

I also think, that those who don't agree with fanfilm awards should simply IGNORE them. For example, I can't stand Harry Potter so I never look at the Harry Potter website, I don't slag it off!

I for one would like to see how the community rate fan films - If your film isn't a winner- WHO CARES so long as you had fun making it - Hang on a minute making TESBY was a nightmare!!!!!!!!

    Anyhoo

Didn't you read DaftMaul's post. THese awards have nothing to do with TFN

    What's TESBY?

Ya know, I often find myself asking the same question

Hang on a minute making TESBY was a nightmare!!!!!!!!

    Night o'clock. Day o'clock. Bight o'clock. Day o'clock

TESBY is short for THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACKYARD, a fan film created by Backyard Productions and directed by myself. It was released on 6 May 2000

You can download the film on TFN.

You can also find out about TESBY and our new film DOOM RAIDERS on our website, www.backyardproductions.co.uk

Sorry about that, I thought you were joking when you asked!

It's ok, thank's Daft Maul and Darren.

I thought Hailbut was doing Doom Raiders in Cyprus from what I read, guess I was wrong.

I will check out the TEBSY, but not now, it's 3:38am in Australia and I have to get some sleep (unfortunately).

    ;)

Halibut is part of the Doom Raiders team, currently he is working on the score for it.

Backyard Productions has made 4 films in total including TESBY and Doom Raiders.

So much for the ORIGINAL intent of this post. [face_plain]

EDIT: Locking this becuase there is another topic on the subject [link=http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=6349984&replies=3]here[/link] that seems to be more 'structured'. Hopefully that one will be third time lucky...
