NaNoWriMo Escape Pod - It's over and we rocked the house!

Tomorrow is going to be a stretch.... but I'm currently at 47396 words.

I am writing again after a long hiatus... haha. I'm just trying to hit 70K, and I'm close enough that it might happen, if I can keep myself away from my DVD player.

 

Yeah, I wanted my Fett back. I changed it this morning.
Don't wait til the last minute to verify if haven't already. There was a warning thread over on the forums about it. Also, unlike past years you only have until 11:59:59 pm local time, not their board time. So don't miss the deadline!

Well, NaNoWriMo's done, that is. The story is not, particularly, and I gave the main character some wacky dreams and a writing habit, but I did fold them in.

If I do this next year, I may try a more exotic goal, like actually doing some writing every day instead of playing catch-up.

YAY!

I'm not done - 1.9 chapters left to go. But it's been a great ride, and I've had tons of fun with it. It was pretty amazing, really. Some of the scenes were kind of crappy - the Boba Fett vs. Tenel Ka needs a major rework, and Jacen vs. the Nightsisters wasn't the greatest either. But some of the scenes really surprised me with what could happen when I just kicked back and wrote, without worrying about it, and let the characters to their things. There is some really hilarious stuff (that I wish, I wish, I wish I could quote) and a few non-funny exchanges that I really liked.

Someone actually told me this novel was better than its prequel - the prequel I sweated and slaved over and spent 4 months writing. I don't know if I believe it, though. I really HATED that first battle scene.

 

6560 words.

And that's my final word count for nanowrimo. I have ten minutes until midnight, but I'm going to call it now. The novel, well, that will obviously go on. I think I can finish it. At least, I'm going to try.

At the last minute, I tried writing ahead, and remembered anew why I can't do that. I might not able to keep it, either. Oh, well. It served its purpose at the very last.

ETA:

I couldn't resist sneaking in a few more words at the literal last minute. My final word count is 6600.

 

I'm proud of all you guys! Great job to everyone who finished and attempted! You're all amazing in my eyes!

Now pull up a bed, turn off the computer and sleep, dearies. You've earned it!

My final word count for NaNoWriMo 2006 is 29,003.

I have to say this was a lot of fun to do, and even though I didn?t make 50,000, I am glad I did it! So, thanks Jennifer_Lyn for starting this thread! I never would have done this without it.

If all goes as planned, the first post of my NaNo novel should be appearing in the Saga in a few days.

Is anyone else going to going to be posting their story now that NaNoWriMo is over?

woohoo! i'm so proud of every one of you who attempted this!

it was a real blast watching my pm box fill up with all those little steps on the way to nano victory. and i consider any wordcount a victory.
