How did the sweet Mikoto wind up with the much colder and older Fugaku? Well, here's my take on how they met.

    --

A young, raven hired girl who looked no older than sixteen stood outside the police headquarters with her knuckles less than an inch from the door. In those few seconds before her skin came into contact with the metal surface, she wondered as to how to introduce herself.

She was Mikoto, last name not important because it did not belong to any of the big ninja clans of Konoha. It wasn't Hyuuga, Yamanaka, Senju and definitely not Uchiha. In fact, it was not a ninja family name at all.

She was just Mikoto, nameless prodigy. No, scratch that, she was just that forgotten former prodigy that the ANBU... no, don't mention ANBU... Hokage sent for an errand.

Yes, when she was a young child, she truly shined and showed it. She graduated the Academy at age seven, made Chunin when she was eight, made Jonin a little later, but just as quickly as the daughter of civilian parents made headlines, she vanished from the annals of ninja history when the ANBU suddenly slapped a mask over her cherubic face.

Now, with her mask off for the first time in years, she was just Mikoto, forgotten famous face, prodigy with no kekkei genkai.

No, not even that. For the purpose of the task at hand, she was just simply Mikoto now.

Her knuckles clashed against the door once, and then again when no one answered the first knock.

    --

Fugaku recognized that face immediately after opening the door. He could identify that devil girl anywhere, anytime.

    Flashback

"And the first match is... Uchiha Fugaku vs. Musashi Mikoto!" announced the guy in charge of the Chunin exams. That was when he first seriously studied that girl. Since there were only two teams that emerged from the forest where the second round of the Chunin exams were held on time and one was his own, he only had to search through the three unknown faces for his opponent.

That team consisted of two boys from the class below him and a mud covered thing that was no taller than a common table. Judging from the family name, which belonged to these wealthy, civilian nobles, he immediately decided that she was probably some spoiled, rich princess who wanted to play ninja and the family probably hired those two kids to pamper her. They probably paid the teachers to let her into the class that graduated the year after he did. Even if she really was a prodigy, she was still just a child and would not have much in terms of physical strengths or resistance to candy and other treats. It shouldn't be a challenge to beat that little pipsqueak.

    One month later...

He studied the arena, sharingan activated. No chakra meant no opponent there. Good. He thought. Just a few more seconds without any sign of that girl and he'd win this round. Three. Two. One... He suddenly felt a thump on his back followed by a sharp, stabbing pain. His lungs seemed to be on fire, and not due to the Uchiha fire jutsus. Just a few inches below his face, two long, bloody pieces of sharp metal jutted out of his chest. He turned his head and swore to never forget the sight that he saw as the world faded to black. It was a head of messy, jet-black hair and the innocent looking grin of that blasted child.

    End of flashback

She was taller and her once short and messy chicken butt hair now flowed neatly down to her elbows. Her body now had the perfect amount of boobs, hips, and nice, long legs. She still had the seemingly excited, gleeful grin on her face, but it looked... forced, just like what remained of that sparkle in her eyes. It all still went almost perfectly with her pale skin, slight blush and midnight hair. No, he didn't just think that. Yes, some things changed and she looked like a doe eyed goddess, but this was definitely still her.

This was Mikoto, infamously smart kid and public enemy.

    "Musashi Mikoto," he greeted her.
