For the character she plays of Padme- sadly there Are two stanzas I can't complete till EpIII- but oh well :

    Ode to Padme

    Are you an angel?
    Asks a funny little boy.
Never imagining the truth to his dreams,
A brave ruler hides behind youth and beauty,
protecting a world so fair and green.

    Will you defer?
Asks a man with no confidence.
Never comprehending the dark forces now employed,
A new leader will bring sanity and compassion,
taking great interest in a funny little boy.

Could we keep it a secret?
Asks a boy growing up too fast.
Never believing such secrets could be kept,
A nightmare is awakened amidst forbidden passion and love,
trying to be strong as a grown man wept.

    Will you join me?
    Asks a charismatic separatist.
Never thinking war was the only way,
A dellow fellowgate does what he feels is just and right,
    smiling despite the approaching fray.

    What was she like?
Asks a brother to a sister.
Never having any memory of his mother,
A whisper of a woman both kind and sad,
looking down with hope on a sister and her brother.

Hmm... That article should be intersting to read, i hope Nat isn't some smoking, drinking, sleeping around kind of person (she doesn't appear to be). IMHO, she looks better without all the eye make up.

I recently realized that Natalie did a very good job of getting a connection with the audience. I cared for Padme and was hoping nothing would happen to her. Deep inside my mind I knew she might die in the next movie or between Ep3 and Ep4. In the scene where she was scratched in the back everyone in the theatre gasped. I got nervous. I didn't want to see her get hurt and judging by everyone else's reaction, they didn't either.

She connected with me, I could just feel it ;) I think she did a great job at playing her role, and helped everyone out.

With the amount of progress she made from TPM to AOTC I can't wait to see what she can do in the third episode.

Natalie was good, she's slowly growing into this role. You could tell she was more comfortable with it in AOTC. She is gorgeous. Hayden, that lucky guy.

Lt.Cmdr.Thrawn: Actually... you're wrong. Watch the scene where Obi-wan's message is routed to the Council from Anakin's ship.

It's common for actors to take a movie or two to develop the way they want to play a character. I remember watching an interview with Roger Moore where he talked about playing James Bond. He said that, for his first two Bond films, he was basically playing Roger Moore playing Sean Connery playing James Bond; it wasn't until his third Bond film that he really figured out how he wanted to play the part. Actors often talk about things like that when they play characters for television, or a series of films: they never quite get it right the first time.

I read an interview at the Entertainment Weekly website (I think) with Natalie. This was said...

(EW)[Producer] Rick McCallum says ''Episode II'' was a much better experience for you than ''Episode I.'' How so?

(Natalie)''Episode I'' was really, really hard for me. Being 16, in London for the summer with no people my age, not knowing anyone there -- that was just really difficult. The weather was awful, and the studio was like this old factory -- it was just a very depressing summer.

(EW)When you look at your performance in ''Episode I,'' do you see how that tough time affected it?

(Natalie)Absolutely. And I feel bad about it, because it was very unprofessional. When you're 16, it's easy to be selfish and go, ''I'm not having a good day and I can't deal.'' Now I'm old enough to know this is my job. I have to put my own things aside.

As I said earlier I look forward to her performance in Ep3.

Theres much more to the interview at http://www.ew.com/ew/report/0,6115,226981~1~0~,00.html

I think Natalie's terrible acting destroys that character. But that's me.

    Carry on, brethren.

Well I'm sure Drason_OBEXX must have been wetting his underpants and drooling off his ever-productive salivary glands when looking at Padme's underdeveloped, yet charming self.

But believe it or not, I did try to be objective of her acting as well.

Its Ok if you think she didn't act very well Obi Wan, but you guys really don't need to start attack each other . . Its bad form.

Very interesting article by Jedi and thoughts by dehrian.

There were some scenes even I thought could have been better. One thing I noticed is that she seems to do VERY well with what she is given, but she doesn't seem to improvise any like Hayden and especially Ewan.
