Child Star From Flight Of The Navigator Arrested After Bank Robbery Joey Cramer, the child actor who starred in 1986 fantasy movie ‘Flight Of The Navigator’, has been arrested and charged with holding up a bank in Canada. According to The Coast Reporter, Cramer was arrested on May 1 following the robbery, which happened on April 28 at the Scotiabank in Sechelt, British Columbia. Cramer, who is now 42, is said to have robbed the bank disguised in a shoulder-length wig and a bandana covering his face. “Despite the fact that a disguise was used during the robbery, the suspect was quickly identified by some of our officers, who had recently dealt with him on an unrelated matter,” said Constable Harrison Mohr of the Sunshine Coast Royal Canadian Mounted Police. “We hope that the community feels safer now that the suspect has been apprehended. “Here on the Sunshine Coast, robberies are extremely rare. We’re fortunate that the officers were able to get the suspect into custody quickly.” Cramer was charged with wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an indictable offence, along with failing to stop for a peace officer and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle during his alleged getaway attempt. It’s not known whether a weapon was used in the robbery. “We can’t comment on any weapon at this time, other than to confirm no one was injured and no physical violence occurred,” Mohr added. Back in 2011, Cramer had another run-in with the law, when he was accused of trying to cash fake cheques. Cramer, whose real name is Deleriyes Joe Cramer, was 12 when he starred in the Disney movie, about a boy abducted by an alien space ship. It also starred Sarah Jessica Parker and Paul Reubens, but it did not mark the beginning of a last career. After appearing in a handful of other movies, including 'The Clan of the Cave Bear’ with Daryl Hannah, he returned to live in Canada. https://uk.movies.yahoo.com/post/143883743696/flight-of-the-navigator-star-arrested-after-bank
Cramer returned to live in Canada's Sunshine Coast after the end of his acting career in the late 1990's, being employed in a small sporting goods store. A decade later he began to run into conflict with the legal authorities. In 2008 he was prosecuted for careless storage of a gun, receiving a sentence of three months probation; later in the year he was convicted for possession of narcotics with the intention of trafficking, receiving an imprisonment sentence of six months. In October 2010 he was fined for consuming alcohol in a public place. In 2011 he was convicted of threatening behaviour with a weapon and jailed for 30 days, and received another conviction in that year for cashing forged bank cheques. As of 2016 Cramer was resident in Gibsons, British Columbia, Canada. He was arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on 1 May 2016 in connection with a bank robbery of aScotiabank outlet that occurred in Sechelt, British Columbia. See? One bad retail job and you turn to the Darkside.
That many run ins with the law, galactic or Sunshine Coast, and they probably are going to recognise you easily, even between wig and bandana. Doesn't say that he was charged with bank robbery though.
Him and Jake Lloyd could turn their lives around by making a buddy comedy about former child stars gone bad. Todd Bridges could play the wisecracking black friend.
I was always jealous of the haul of toys NASA gave him for simply having been abducted by aliens (I remember there being a Transformer, one of the Insecticons, among the pile of toys). But of course, this is sad, no matter what.
Now, I can't help but imagine Max dressed as a judge and presiding over his sentencing. "SEE YA LATER, NAVIGATOR!" *slams gavel*
