Rapid thoughts (I'm still at work) on the Lakers moves:

-I will not miss Walton or Kapono. Dead weight on the team.

-I understand, wasn't surprised to see Fisher go. I've given him a lot of crap over the past year or so, but damned if I won't miss him on the Lakers. When I came to the break room just now to tell fellow fans about the Fisher deal, they understood it as well, but were aghast nonetheless.

-I can't wait/am excited to what Sessions can do for the purple & gold.

    Noooo Fisher :(

Hopefully Nene will give John Wall the happiness he needs.

Little surprising to see Nene go. Hadn't hurt much chatter even locally, though they were stating that nobody on the roster was solid in staying in Denver and the Nuggets wanted something. Still, I rated Nene as the second-least likely to get traded, behind only Gallo.

Glad the Cavs made a move to get a 1st rounder. With that team as is, you have to keep acquiring assets. It doesn't hurt that losing Sessions diminishes the chances they make the playoffs, with a first-round obliteration to the Heat or Bulls being almost worthless, and a lottery pick being worth a lot, lot more.

Gasol is very, very happy to still be a Laker

I'm completely/utterly relieved that Pau didn't get traded. :D He's been in a semi-funk since the playoffs in 2011, but I think that with pressure gone from the trade rumors, that Pau is ready to bounce back to being an elite power forward once again.

    Los Angeles Lakers: Drama, guaranteed.

Sessions will be playing tonight for the Lakers. :D I'm going out a bit later, so I'll have this game waiting for me on the DVR when I return home......................can't wait to see how Sessions does.

Well I guess this era of the Lakers is slowly dying or dead and the new players will take over. Let's hope Sessions and the new guys can help Kobe get another championship!

So apparently the trend for this year is for teams to win their first game for a new coach mid-season. The Knicks won their first post-D'Antoni game, and the Blazers won their first post-McMillan game.

Though the Lakers only lost by 4 points (103-99) on Sunday night, it was one of their uglier games: 24 turnovers, a 3-20 night shooting night from the field from Kobe, and Blake notching no points & only dishing out 2 assists (despite being the starting point guard for now). Bright spots: Bynum!- a 33 & 11 night, and 30 points from the bench (10 points, 6 assists for Sessions). Not only was this the Lakers first home loss in almost 2 months, but the Jazz became the 1st Western Conference team to beat the Lakers at Staples so far this season.

    Los Angeles Lakers: Drama, guaranteed.

Went to the Bucks/Blazers game last night. Bucks won by 29. First time in 6 years I got to see them win in Portland. Scalped $50.00 tickets and got into the club level. Fun times.

It's not surprising at all that Howard is going to miss the start of training camp, as it's doubtful he'll be ready to start the season anyway. Perhaps I feel as strongly as I do on this because I'm a Dodgers fan, but I still don't think enough has been made of the fact that Brooklyn will once again have a major league pro team playing there. When the Lakers make their visit to Brooklyn this season, I'll be looking for this jersey in the stands:
