I had a brief moment of panic, thinking that could have been my dad. And then I realized it involved tweeting.

It's amazing... somehow nobody ever talks about the Spurs, and yet every time they're on national television, nothing but praise is heaped upon them (deservedly so) for their amazing consistency during the Popovich/Duncan era, while in the same breath the announcers will say "how under the radar" San Antonio is. Ha! :p

This game has been surprisingly close thus far (Lakers only down 1 at halftime!), and Simmons & Rose have been an absolute treat to listen to.

Indeed they did, and if it hadn't been for Atlanta's recent hot streak, New York* could be the 8th seed right now.

Whatever works for you, Jordan. :p

*With their trip to Staples on Tuesday night to play the Lakers, I envision the creation and playing of a Phil Jackson drinking game for that one.

Yes. But then they lost to Cleveland. Cleveland. Cleveland playing WITHOUT Irving.

I went to the Spurs at Kings game last week and it was a big mistake. Really re-opened the wound from the NBA Finals last year. I'm never going to get over it. Ever.

As NBA nights go, this one is hard to beat in recent memory. Heat lose, Pacers win, Cavs win on a buzzer beater.

Milwaukee's court design is the most bizarre/confusing I've ever seen in an NBA court.

Yeah I'm not sure what they're doing with that design either.

It's a tribute to double "M's" that they used to have in the Bucks old home, the Mecca.

76er's tie the longest losing streak in NBA history held by the Cavs. No dislike of the 76er's but, please lose at least one more!

Philly deserves so much better. I honestly don't get why they tore the whole thing down in the first place. They made it to the second round of the playoffs just a couple years ago and had a nice collection of young talent. I would only fault them for trading for Bynum. If you put Iggy, Holiday, Meeks, Hawes, and Turner back on this team to go with Thad and MCW they would at worse have around 35 wins or so in a weak conference, and possibly could have made some noise (not saying they would beat Indy or Miami but they would at least be in far better shape). I think maybe all that was needed was the coaching change. I would say having Brown over Collins was the right thing to do. Brett Brown is a good coach, and well respected around the league and could have really done something with all those guys there for a full season IMO.

You are correct on all counts, down to and including your assessment of the coaching change.

So, after administering a beat down on the Pacers today, the Cavs stand 1.5 games out of a playoff spot. They have seven games remaining, and all seven are winnable. The big one is this Friday, at Atlanta, the team they are chasing for the eighth seed.
