Good for Cleveland. LeBron couldn't have handled "The Decision" any more poorly and he couldn't have handled the return to Cleveland any better. That's the speculation. That would be incredible for Cleveland, but a big disappointment for Warriors fans hoping to get Love.

this is my favorite basketball story in a long time. i still hate lebron but i'm really glad this happened.

 

I can say I'm 100% stoked about this-- the Spurs rebounded from that last year so hard that they literally destroyed the Miami Heat.

 

That's probably my favorite part of the news, that the Heat will now be craptastic. I mean, the Heat fans are so fair weather and bandwagoners.

i'm a prophet, and i'm hearing rumors that the rockets are trying to shop lin to la right now. granted, it's espn and they're wrong about a lot of things. but still, don't get your hopes up yet!

 

So we're pretty much waiting on Melo to sign with LA now right?

 

We are assuming that Wade is staying with the Heat right? Then yeah.

 

sounds like the lin trade is going through.

if that's true, the lakers no longer have max money and i don't think melo wants to play with lin anyway. so melo to lakers is probably dead at this point. which i'm def. okay with.

EDIT: Yep, it's a done deal. This is best case scenario for the lakers IMO. We're getting a future first round pick and a very serviceable point guard without cutting into our 2015 cap space. way better long-term than getting carmelo IMO. YESSSS

i love this move. i understand the mixed feelings for cleveland fans, but i honestly think you're getting back a better player than the one who left. really hope he brings you guys a title. lebron going back to cleveland at this point feels way crazier to me than if he would have just stayed in the first place.

At least when be left Cleveland, everyone was sympathetic to the Cavs. It's going to be awesome dealing with the insufferable gloating and mockery we'll get.

 

Brian -- he tried to embrace being the villain, which he was obviously never quite comfortable with. So yes, you're going to get scorn.
