I've been tired of the Lakers constantly playing on Christmas for years now, so this doesn't do much for me, other than the possibility of Kobe (IF HEALTHY) dropping 60+ on the Clippers.

 

Warriors/Cavs also rumored for Christmas Day. Unfortunately, when the Cavs were sans LeBron, my family got used to me not watching sports on Christmas.

 

That sounds about right. The Dubs have played on Christmas night the past few years. It wouldn't surprise me if they were to play the Cavs. However, I think the NBA would probably not have those two teams play each other but rather have them play their rivals to have more games of interest on Christmas day.

 

On the other hand, an NBA finals 'rematch' so to speak, would get ratings.

 

Who is the Cavs rival? Other than God? And that's an incredibly one-sided rivalry.

 

Yeah, God owns the Cavs. For the Dubs, their Christmas rivalry match up be probably be the Clippers or Spurs.

 

And I thought I had a high opinion of Dan Gilbert ...

The late start time there has me a bit more interested in that game now, for this should avoid any sort of drama of having to watch this at a relatives house, for 1) all the presents would have been open long before & 2) dinner & dessert will have been finished as well, so there's nothing left to be done other than to watch television; ideally, I might even be home already at that time.

 

Don't you mean the first day of the regular season?

 

I'm confident that the Lakers will at least win more games than the Knicks this season.
