Looks like it’s time for my annual Blazer-related depression to kick in. Sigh....

he's been very inconsistent up until this season, had his moments where he showed promise, but not enough, and was never the top dog with Butler here. this season he took his chance, and was really good for us - too good for our tank (and ended up messing it up with that stupid winning streak). Pelicans have got a steal really, he fits in nicely with AD there. he will need to be paid though.

That begs the question one whether or not the Pelicans will seek to sign Boogie to a huge contract in the off season or look to add complimentary pieces around the Unabrow.

Honestly this Cavs team without LeBron would be really really bad

Rockets without harden would still be pretty good

i take it back about the cavs having a smooth sailing

what is clear though is that the east is very much irreverent this year. i mean it is most years but its still this year

and lebron is definitely leaving the cavs this off season

The real drama in this year’s playoffs is in the East. The underdogs aren’t going away without a fight.

I told my brother this felt a lot like the Orlando ECF series after game two. Even more so, now. A heroic LeBron is the only reason to leave home at 1-1, and now a terrible Mike Brown esque servic half collapse. Throw in that they were done in by a player who should be playing soccer instead of basketball (Bogdanovic here, Tukgoglu then), and it's really feeling similar.

Hard to doubt LeBron, but hard to have hope of advancing.

of any 1st round series, i probably would have given new orleans-portland the least chance of a sweep. that was impressive.

yeah, i expected a closer series as well though i'm not really surprised by new orleans winning. pelicans are rolling on all cylinders, mirotic really seems like a perfect addition to that team, like his particular skillset is the exact piece they were missing.

It may no longer be a guarantee that they try to re-sign Boogie. Boogie is the better player, but is he the better and more cost effective fit?

Also Lillard basically didn't show up for this series. McCollum gave them one game, but it was too little too late. This is going to be a sour taste in Lillard's mouth.

Boogie might not be the same after that injury either, hopefully he is. Cleveland Clinic has world-renowned doctors btw...

So interesting, I told @xblackout something similar. Haven't felt that gutpunched by a loss in years.

Part of it I think is the context is similar to that series too-- LeBron dragging the team by their scruff further highlighting how he could leave soon. Because there were def gutpunches in Finals Game 3 last year/Finals Game 4 2016/losing Kyrie & Kev in 2015, but those felt different.

I fell in love with LeBron b/c of the shot in game 2 though, so...eager to see how they respond.

Am I the only one thinking "Kobe-Wan Kenobi" when Alvin Gentry said "Kobe 1s"?

I’m tempted to give Lillard a pass, since he’s a new father and has been nursing a sprained ankle for a couple weeks. But this was just a disheartening series. I’m all in on rooting for the Pelicans fo upset GSW in the second round.

Yeah but do GSW fans mind them losing here? Push back the start date of facing a hot Pels team to give Steph more time?
