I'm sure I would have offended the Entwives but since no one, not even the Ents have seen one in many lives of men, I'm not likely to have harshed anyone's buzz.

 

The Pern series is AWESOME!!! It's one of the few I'd love to own in hardback (that and the Incarnations of Immortality series by Piers Anthony, and the Drizzt series by R.A. Salvatore)). I couldn't get enough of them. There were even rumors for a minute that they were going to be turned into a movie or two. I wish they would.

Her Crystal Singer series is pretty cool too, as well as the Singing Ship series.

 

Well if Anne McCafferty hadn't got cold feet at the last moment Ronald D. Moore (executive producer of the new version of Battlestar) would have brought the Pern saga to the TV screen in 2001. Maybe one of the new deals RDM is working on past BG will be a revival of the Pern TV show. Currently RDM is working on the 4th BG season, I Robot II, The Thing (remake for Sci-Fi Channel), Them! (remake).

 

So, any more news on your lady friend?

 

Nothing of consequence to report as of yet. However I did speak to her in passing. She said as soon as she is finished with the novel she is currently reading she'll be giving Dune-The Butlerian Jihad a read. She was friendly and unhurried when she said this to me. So it is still in the 'realm-of-wait-and-see'. Like I said I'm not going to rush things. More conversation will spark I think after she has had opportunity to read DTBJ. At least I hope so.
