Getting married in just over 6 weeks.... starting to freak out a little bit.... but not full blown crazy -- yet.
*deep breaths*

 

There was a 'block' party for our community yesterday. Community=all the houses in our little canyon in the hills. There were two live bands, BBQ and potluck dishes. I learned a little history about the place as well:

- it's the 100 yr anniversary of the community; first cabins were put in around 1910 after the redwoods had been clearcut to provide building materials for SF after the big earthquake

- During prohibition, the whole canyon was a speakeasy. The house down the street from me was a 'cat house'.

- During the 60s or 70s, the front of the canyon was a commune. They had a huge pot farm going up on one hillside complete with a big irrigation system supplied from a spring up top.

 

I just got a living Money Tree from Qwest.

Apparently we got the plant for being a good customer, whatever that means. Perhaps it is because of how much we pay them each month, lol.

Ya know what's weird... I've never actually had any of my own Jello Shot recipes. I didn't start playing with the recipes until after I stopped drinking.

 

*grumble* I have to start leaving earlier for work again. During the summer traffic is lighter and I can get away with leaving a little later. But this week it slammed down again so I have to leave earlier if I don't want to get stuck.

Which means I'd better move it.

I haven't hiked up there, so I don't know. I think the authorities are a lot more observant and strict about that sort of thing these days though. We're not all that far from civilization.
