That's unfortunate... I was really looking forward to that one. Seemed like a great ENT-to-TOS transition piece.

Thanks, I knew it was something easy, still that's pain if you want to do multiple replies at once.

So my list goes more like this, but that's because I'm a Spock+Kirk trekker. Never really got into watching anything but TOS and its movies.
    Star Trek 2009
    Into Darkness
    The Undiscovered Country
    The Wrath of Khan
    The Search for Spock
    The Voyage Home
    The Motion Picture
    The Final Frontier

I like I-V, don't like VI, Generations, or 2009, and haven't seen the rest.

If you're using a browser, just open all the quotes into their own tab as you go then copy/paste them together into a single one that you submit with your responses.

My top four Trek movies would probably be First Contact, Undiscovered Country, Voyage Home and then WoK, which is kind of an unusual ranking, i thiink. WoK is great, just prefer the other three a bit more.

I'd place Search for Spock at the top of the middling movies, and nuTrek 2009 near the middle-bottom. I actually like III a lot, the Excelsior introduction, stealing the Enterprise, the crew risking everything to ensure Spock can rest in peace (they had Spock's katra, but none of them were expecting the Genesis planet to revive Spock, I think).

My least favorite would probably be V/Nemesis and then Insurrection or STID as the worst. STID was stupid and tried to ride on WoK's story beats without the history to back it up when it ripped off scenes (Spock "ratting out" Kirk on the Prime Directive violations for instance). Some interesting ideas, and a kind of uplifting ending, but far too many stupid moments.

I think the comics had Nero's ship as the result of reverse-engineered Borg tech combined with Romulan tech? Which Romulan survivors gave to him as a field test, or something like that. They had to come up with something for why some miners have a ship so powerful (even compared to 23rd century ships).

TWOK/FC/TUC (honestly can't pick a favourite from those three)
    Star Trek
    Generations
    Nemesis
    TSFS
    TVH
    STID
    Insurrection
    TFF
    TMP

Putting them in a list really doesn't show the true gulf in quality between some of those films though.

    STID
    GEN
    TMP

    NEM
    INS

This was hard because I grew up on TNG and VOY (though the latter has aged horribly) and have never seen a single episode of TOS. The movies with TOS crew felt more immersive and had more heart to them I thought. I prefer Spock over Data. Spock's fish out of water moments (especially in TVH) just feel so natural thanks to Nimoy's performance, whereas Data's humor almost always felt forced in the movies.

Is this a thing we're doing now? k...

    I'd probably go...

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
    Star Trek (2009)
    Star Trek: First Contact
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
    Star Trek: The Motion Picture
    Star Trek: Generations
Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
    Star Trek: Insurrection
    Star Trek Into Darkness
    Star Trek: Nemesis

Though I'm probably flip-flopy on that final two... and possibly on 2009 and First Contact (in an equally good way, not in one's worse than the other way).

Like I said a pain :p But yeah I've used the multiple tab trick for other forums. I couldn't remember if it was this forum or not, but in the past I used a forum that had a quote button and if you clicked it, it would change color to show you'd done so and then when you hit reply at the bottom it would add in all the quotes you selected. It was really handy.

On second reflection, I think my list was more of my preferred watch order. Otherwise I would have stuck Voyage Home higher. It's just, I can't watch say WOK without wanting to then immediately watch SFP. Can't leave Spock dead, then that makes me want to watch Voyage Home.

Wrath of Khan is the best. Undiscovered Country, Voyage Home, Search for Spock, and First Contact are pretty good. The rest have serious issues and I can't be bothered to figure out which is the crappiest, cuz when you try to sort out crap you just get crap on your hands and who needs that?

Dukat is possibly the greatest scifi villain ever. I love Star Wars, but no villain goes through Dukat's development.

Gotta admit though, the prequels kind of ruined his development, though.

Is Vader really a villain though? He redeems himself. Dukat descends into darkness and never redeems himself.

He tries to redeem at times but is too delusional and descends again.

I think the Pah-Wraith storyline did more damage to Dukat's development than the prequels did to Vader's, but that's just me. Dukat's arc was brilliant before that for sure.
