I'm very intrigued by the changes 2.0 is supposed to have: new EVAs, new chosen children, multiple Adams...

I haven't been keeping up on Evangelion poop for a while. Are there going to be different Evas or are they adding some?

Whoah, looks like they're also introducing Kawaru/Tabris into the mix a little earlier than the series.

 

Yeah, since almost the beginning. A good change, I'd say; more Kaworu is always good.

There are some Evangelion 1.0 clips doing the round. Vastly improved animation.

 

I've seen one of the Operation: Yoshima battle. I can't bear to continue spoiling the movie through a cell phone camera, though.

Rebuild of Evangelion 1.0 is a reality. What did you think? Gainax cashing on EVA or a re-envisioning? I'll say that I'm intrigued.

I honestly dont know what to think of Rebuild.
I love the original evangelion and i wouldnt want it ruined.

 

Forget the rebuild. I'm more concerned about this live action NGE film. Please, someone tell me it's been shot down!

I liked RoE 1.0. Maybe it was just nostalgia, but I loved every minute of it. It's just a remake of the first six episodes, I know, but Anno has made some interesting editing choices. Shinji is not as angsty as he was before, and it kind of reminds me of Sadamoto's version of Ikari, and most of the series mythology is introduced earlier. I'm intrigued to see where 2.0 goes.

I like the old EVA 02 better.

 

Yeah, me too, but the horns reminds me of some of the original drafts. And now that I think of it, in said drafts there were an EVA-05 and an EVA-06.

Some fans are interpreting the ending of 1.0 as indicating Rebuild is actually a sequel. My theory is different: I believe Kaworu is aware he's in a remake. That would be so Anno.

So I just watched Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0 and I really liked it. I'm seeing stuff from the orginal proposal, and I'm starting to consider this "what if Anno had had a good budget instead of a a mental breakdown". I'm not sure if I like all the fanservice, though, but I chuckled when I saw Mari's Gainax Bounce.

 

Is that like...season 2 or something?

I just watched the first rebuild yesterday...

God.


IT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!
I love almost everything about it. Then new animation, the slightly new plot twists, the new soundtrack, everything.
I've been looking around online for the second rebuild but have yet to find it.
I may have to break down and go to the store to buy it lol

I didnt see any of the fanservice that Shwarz talked about, but its definitely ALOT darker seeming than the original.
Alot less of the goofy animation, funny facial expressions, and alot more blood and guts and just general "on the brink of the end of the world" feeling.

 

The fanservice is in 2.0 and it's... blatant.

By the way, the plot has nothing to do with the series except for vague details (the EVA-03 saga or Zeruel). Worth a watch.
