    So Rebuild 3.0/Q has premiered in Japan, and the spoilers have started appearing on fansites.

    It was clear that they were diverging from the plot of the original series, but I don't think anyone expected...

    Probably. We're going to have fansubs much earlier. I think some group had finished or was close to finishing translating the transcripts.

    To the right of the four new characters, members of Misato's organization, are Maya and the rest of the classic "bridge bunnies" (Aoba looks to be sporting a soul patch, ugh). Then everyone else is a known character: Misato is the one looking like a character from a 1970s mecha series, Ritsuko sporting a drastical haircut, Rei in black. Oh, the girl to the left of Kaworu is Touji's sister, all grown up.

    I kind of like that every movie diverges more and more from the original series. I think 4.0 is going to be a stop motion movie starring Play-Doh EVAs and shot in Russian.

    yeah, that fits it with the whole evangelion symbolic scheme, so it doesn't seem that outrageous to me. having a shuttlebutt is, though.
