    Never to Forever

Disclaimer: I do not own Star Wars or any of the characters in this story. I make no money from this story and wrote this for my entertainment and the possible entertainment of others. I just wanted to play in George Lucas? world.

No one believed her. No one cared. She was just the stuck up ex-Goddess. It was impossible to see past her ?mask.? The mask was much like her mothers? political mask except hers did not hide emotions; it simply shut all others out. It was a mask that only one could penetrate. That one wasn?t even her twin. No, Jacen, like the rest of the galaxy could only see her as a blank slate. It was true that Jacen could occasionally gain glimpses into her emotions and thoughts but each time a glimpse was gained the same things were seen. They were heartbreak and longing. Both of which were the cause of one man, Kyp Durron.
Meanwhile, Jacen Solo sat in a state of tranquility. He was one with the force and truly a Jedi Master. The state of peace he was in was interrupted by a familiar presence arriving in-system. Jacen could sense his tranquility become chaos as his feelings of love came to the surface once again. Tenal Ka had always done this to him and he never once acted on his feelings.
Jacen abandoned all pretense of meditation; it was useless whenever she was near. The feeling of joy from her being near was too much for his new pacifist nature though and he broke into a grin as he ran to the hangar.
Queen Mother Tenal Ka walked down the landing ramp with all the poise and dignity expected of a monarch of 63 planets, instead of the fumbling manner in which many young adult women walk. She adapted a public mask and was to address the various sentients gathered around, but stopped as Jacen entered. She ran and was swept up and twirled around in his arms, as if she were merely a doll.
Jacen was amazed at his behavior and her obvious affection for him. He sat her down and the many sentients watched in utter confusion as her expression went from gleeful to solemn and serious as she uttered, ?Friend Jacen, at your earliest convenience we need to discuss a matter of personal sorts.?
Jacen?s expression changed as well. It went from joyful friend to concerned brother. He knew what she wished to discuss and as he thought about it his stomach began to do flip-flops and his brain became cluttered with despair.
Jacen's despair was akin to what Jaina felt as she sat, confined in the cockpit of her X-wing and stared at the blackness of hyperspace. It was cold and endless. One could get lost in its infinite possibilities of routes traveled and routes lost.
Most Jedi would enter a hibernation trance when going through hyperspace but she could not. Her thoughts were too unsettled. She could not concentrate on anything but what she wished she could not concentrate on. Every time she had spare moments her thoughts would drift to the man who haunted her every move.
In actuality though it wasn?t haunting, it was something else. But what she did not know. It was a question that often plagued her for the answer she came to time and time again startle her. Sure, she was attracted to him and the strength and depth of their bond was incredible. They also got along quite well and if truth were told she rather enjoyed their fighting. They fit together perfectly. They fit together better than Mara and Luke. Her brain drew a rather startling conclusion from her previous thoughts. It was love. She loved Kyp Durron.
Jacen led Tenal Ka to his chambers. It was a small one roomed chamber that shared a fresher with the adjourning rooms, which housed his parents and his aunt, uncle and cousin. He rather clumsily entered the small kitchen area of his quarters and fixed two cups of caf. He walked back to his bed and plopped down next to Tenal Ka on his bed. An uneasy and awkward silence ensued.
Tenal Ka was the first to speak. ?Jacen, Jaina is changed. She no longer smiles and her mental walls are stronger than durasteel. She is less peaceful and more distraught than
