PLEASE READ before responding! Often forum discussions get diluted and misguided with replying to a post, especially longer replying posts. To keep the topics in line and to avoid “post saturation”, please do not reply to specific posts. Take the time to address the postee and their comments, as it pertains to topics invoked, in. A new reply. And above all, please do not start troll fights. If a dimwit throws stones leave that postee alone and don't validate their negativity. You will find life is so much better when you ignore the instigators.

    2 plot theories

    1. Foreshadowing.
Kylo Ren being bested. The movie Foreshadows why his blaster wound causes him to be less effective in his lightsaber duels with Finn and Rey. We are shown several instances of Han using Chewie’s bow-caster. The results were better then regular blaster bolts shots. When being shot with blaster so, Stormtrooper go down where they stand. However, when bow-caster is used you will see that it causes its target to be pushed and flipped back quite far. Han even relishes in the laser gun’s power when he states he really likes the weapon. I feel J.J. Is trying to display its damaging effects. Thus, Kylo being hit by the bow-caster’s bolt as more critical resulting in a “side pounding” Kylo in his duel with Finn and Rye. J.J. even shows the same results after an X-wing hits its target. Both shots result in higher damage then a regular blaster bolt hit.

    2. Kylo the cloner
It is no secret that Kylo favors cloned soldiers over the random conditioned soldier. This is made clear in Kylo’s comment to Hux regarding the retrieval mission to capture BB8. His comment suggests doubt in Hux’s conditioned troopers and favors cloned worriers.

This is where my theory comes into play. The Knights of Ren are Kylo's personally cloned army ala the DNA of Darth Vader. He is in possession of the dis-formed Vader helmet that he keeps displayed in a mini-scape of gravel. Both being remnants of Vader’s cremation ceremony in ROTJ. He has Vader’s DNA and is using it to help finish what Vader started.

I even think Rey is the genetic offspring of Vader. Kylo was making his own Boba Fett so to speak. In Rey’s Forceflash we see a figure trying to kill Rey. Kylo steps in and prevents this from happening because he is protecting his cloned Force child. So know the 7 knights of Ren are down to 6 members (freeze frame shot on DVD to count those standing with Kylo after this slaying). Kylo wants his child to rule with him as a Knight of Ren by taking place of the slain member making the 7 complete again. This is just an idea. Besides, who would send a child off to a desert planet but also in the care of a dastardly person that cheats and swindles? I am also still holding out as the character attacking young Rey as Countstable "bedpan helmet". He was to be in the movie but wound up on cutting room floor but there is a toy made of him.

Luke is in search of the original Jedi temple because he is in search of deeper origins of the Force. He hasn't gone their for Jedi training, he is a Master. He wants to learn of the How and Why the Force exists. How it can be given. How it can be taken away. Not too dissimilar then the Mutation concept in X-Men.

Look for Kylo to break away from the First order and to even fight with Luke at times. This will help freshen up plots as we can't always watch plots that focus on Empire/Sith vs. Rebellion/Jedi. Growth of the story needs to happen if we want more.

Most of these points are being discussed already in various topic-specific threads in here. If nowhere else, then the main Kylo Ren thread works, but please take a look at existing threads more first before starting a new thread to list all of your theories, etc. Welcome to the boards.

    Locking.
