Oceania New Australian Spelling

    I find all this very hard to believe.

    We spell everything the same way as the English

    'Arse' is how the poms spell it.

    When I was in school I always spelt Colour as "Color". When the teacher told me that is the American way, I said "it's better" ... and look at me today, I failed school. ;)

    Seriously, I like Ass instead of Arse and Color instead of Colour, probably because it's shorter and I'm lazy. :)

    Jeez. You're all Australian. It's arse!

    And I sort of hope if they are going to change a word that they change 'gaol' to 'jail'. That's probably the only American spelling that I really like.

    Maybe it's got something to do with the fact that we pronounce it arse and the yanks pronounce it ass.

    Well I don't really have a full on "Howz it goin' mayte" Aussie accent, so when I say the word Arse/Ass it's in between the two and sounds like:

    "Azss".

    I've invented a new spelling of Ass/Arse. ;)
