My android tablet serves the same purposes. I also use it to watch bad movies with other JCCers (if you haven't yet done this, you should).

 

I would have said that I was antisocial, but the frequency with which I am missing those bad movie nights due to having plans is making me think I may actually be on the good side of sociopathic.

 

my gf had never watched star wars either. we watched anh a few weeks ago and she liked it, but's she's not in any hurry to watch the rest of them and i don't really care. yes, this is the same girl i've watched 45 nicolas cage movies with. priorities.

 

My husband has never watched Star Wars either but tbh I only watched the OT once when I was a kid. But we have watched and rewatched the Austin Powers movies so many times

 

I don't care much if someone hasn't seen Star Wars. If she hadn't seen Deep Space Nine, however, I would immediately break it off because she's clearly an idiot.

But people here are pretty convincing about the iPad. Oh well. Guess I'll get one online.

 

I also can still watch ORF. Austrian tv news is one of the only apps on my un-updated iPad that still works.

 

Get an Android tablet. There's a bunch of excellent ones out there, all of which run no version of iOS.

 

You only like those things because of the name.

 

to be honest a tablet of any kind is just not worth the trouble. I regret wasting money on one and decided never to buy another...maybe I'll reconsider when my sight starts to fail in 10 years.

If there is a young kid involved, and you do end up getting an iPad, I recommend an otter box case. Pricey, but worth it.

 

The kid's school bought several hundred thousand dollars worth of iPad minis to hand out to every single K-5 student. Then some district employee stole all of them. Then the district had to buy a second shipment.
