I'll be taking my mom to an early Mother's Day brunch tomorrow, because I won't be available next week to take her out.

Other than that, mowing the law is on the top of my list.

The 12 year old has a sleepover, so the wife and I are going out to dinner! Were planning on seeing Papa Hemingway in Cuba, but it has 10% on RT. Since that's off the table she will probably make me see Mother's Day at 7% RT. Going to be a great night.

Green Room is great! How does your wife feel about gore? You could also go see the Invitation which was one of the most stressful movies I ever watched. Plenty of psychological thrillers to choose from for your date night.

Hope you feel better soon! My son's crazy school had midterms today - more than a month to go before finals.

 

I'm glad I don't have to worry about stupid **** like midterms and finals.

i visited my grandmother and now i'm rich.

i'm gonna buy myself a new jacket tomorrow. haven't shopped for clothes in like a year.

 

Soooo I always kinda looked down on people secretly who played video games but I bought a ps4 recently and just finished gta5. so I'm one of those people now I guess

 

Feeling lost without my friend Linda . . . I realized that when I posted about her before, I pretty much completely failed to evoke her, so I'll try again. Linda was the lady with the pink hair in the glow-in-the-dark wheelchair wearing shades and a t-shirt that said "Piss On Pity." She hated being looked down upon because she had a disability, especially by people who felt saintly for patting her on the head and saying, "Ohh, poor widdle you." That just enraged her, and rightly so. She was married for 19 good years to her husband, JJ, and the two of them had the happiest marriage I have ever seen.

A favorite memory was the time the two of us went to an assistive technology conference in Detroit, with a mutual friend, Miriam. Linda used an electric scooter at the time, and Miriam had an electric wheelchair. I had some kind of major problem with my knees, so I'd rented a scooter too. We did lap races around the food court section of the Renaissance Center, narrowly missing horrified onlookers. (Miriam won, hands down. That chair of hers could easily do 10 mph.) Miriam has also since passed on, and I like to think of them zooming around the afterlife, still running over the toes of those with over-delicate sensibilities.
