Besties, I got my diploma in the mail finally and have it in a fancy holder. It looks all official-like, and it makes me look like a professional person or something.

My wife just asked me if I want to sit on the porch tonight and drink beer and eat chips and salsa while watching the Cubs game. I love her.

I was going to crack wise and then I remembered that's basically been my life for the last half decade.

I'm going to the gym. It doesn't smell quite as good as the beach.

I suspect that in like a decade my final analysis will be "That sure was a thing I did."

Speaking of being a student, my son claims he is graduating in December, what counts at his university as 2 quarters early. If you'd like some unimportant and useless trivia, they're called quarters, but they're basically trimesters. In any case it amounts to what I'd call a semester early. So, depending on whether he gets a job, etc., (he's interning in NYC right now, with I hope good prospects of moving there after graduation) I am actually potentially within 5 months of having money again. I haven't seen it in so long I'm not sure I remember what it looks like.

If that gif isn't a metaphor of the current presidency then my name isn't George Lucas.

besties, I've been internetting for 20 years, and sometimes it still seems like magic. My son is going on a backpacking trip in Colorado for a week after he's done with his internship in NYC. I dug out my old backpack, but half the zippers were corroded and stuck open. What did I do, besties? Did I panic? Did I curse? Yes! but after that I Googled how to unstick corroded zippers.

The answer is vinegar and a toothbrush. Nobody knew unsticking a zipper could be so uncomplicated. Well, somebody knew, and they shared it on a boating forum. Bless them.

The internet told me it is too late to fertilize my hibiscuses. Now I know to check earlier in the season.

It told me not to water the potatoes I'm growing in a sack more than 1-2 times a week.

I've been internetting for a quarter of a century. I worked for the first ISP in the country, and I've been involved in website development in one way or the other ever since.

I just ordered food online. A quarter of a euro goes to IDEAL banking. A quarter in every transaction. Every. Transaction. Seventy thousand a day. And that's only in a small country like mine.
I can't help but think: why didn't I think of that? I've just remained a stupid designer.
I could have made a fortune with just buying up some URLs in the nineties. I knew it could be done, I knew how, but I considered myself "too good for it".
When YouTube started I thought: who the hell is going to watch that? It's just people's home videos.
And when these webshops and payment modules started, I thought: too complicated.
My business sense flat out sucks.
