I'd give the contract company at least two weeks notice - longer if it's standard for your industry or you think they'll need more time than that to move all your stuff around (although it sounds like they won't). Only wait til the last minute if you are 100% fine with burning every bridge you have there and if you have a good reason to believe they'll fire you as soon as you give notice anyway.

 

yeah I had an operation and my lower lip was so sore for days , the tube must've been rubbing against it the whole time .

Also--my medical transition has now officially begun! I used my new testosterone prescription for the first time at 10:30 this morning.

10:31 -- No beard yet.
10:35 -- No beard yet.
10:47 -- No beard yet . . .

 

Congrats Ben! If I could donate you my seven or eight extremely healthy chin and neck follicles that produce luscious thick dark hairs, I would.

Well they are firm on the offer, but I'm glad I asked. Doesn't hurt to ask. I have essentially verbally accepted, but I asked for them to delay the offer letter as that starts the countdown for the drug test so wish me luck on peeing in a cup!

 

We can all feel thankful that these drug tests don't require stool samples.

 

Yeah they'd pick up a lot of st- I mean, bowel movements can be so unpredictable.

 

besties it's wednesday! that's pretty unremarkable i know, but all day until just now i thought it was tuesday, which is the opposite of how this normally works. so i got a free small endorphin rush instead of a crushing blow to the gut when i realized i was wrong.

 

It is Tuesday, bezzie.

As previously noted I never don't know what day it is. Our lobby guy (that may not be his official job title) calls it out as we arrive, to make absolutely sure that we are never in doubt. "Happy Hump Day!" (that's today!). Tomorrow is "Happy Friday's Eve!" (that's Thursday!)

In case we miss that though there's also the elevator tv that tells us the day along with some kind of critical insight about leadership and management. Here's one:

i get an increasingly smaller endorphin rush with every j/k!

 

My work schedule won't be normal for at least another 2-weeks, when I'll finally get my normal weekend (some combination of Tueday-Thursday nights) back; having Sunday/Monday's off feels way too weird.

 

a lot of good basketball this monday tho.

 

Also a lot of not being at work.

 

Until 10am I was convinced today was Monday!

 

That's the pain meds
