Chicago is my favorite American city. No joke. (I see you over there! Ready to joke! Stop it! STOPPP ITTTTT!!!111!!) It's also relatively easy to get to for me . . . maybe I'll actually make it to this one, as I doubt Celebration will ever get any closer!

 

Chicago is now a short plane ride away. So I might actually make it for a bit, too.

So, one more reason people won't want to go.

 

I visited Chicago a few years ago for C2E2 and had a great time. I found the downtown area so much cleaner than San Francisco.
I love Gino's East and Giordano's deep dish pizza. And Garrett's Chicago Style and Cheddar popcorn is the best!

 

I’m actually thrilled it’s in a Chicago! This will be my first Celebration since 2005 in indy. And the abiding memory of that was meering a lot of awesome JCers (and the ****s from BYS).

And this time I’ll get to meet even more, and I. Cannot. Wait!!!!!!!

Oh my god, I am so excited that it is in Chicago!! This will be my sister and I’s first convention. Chicago is three hours away from me and we have been there several times.

 

It's typically one of those things to which I say I'll go and then don't go.

Chicago in April is terrible, that's why I don't want to go.

 

I forgot to declare Lou Malnati's, as well. Some local recommended to us because the use wine in their sauce. It has a nice view from the outside too.

That's what I heard the time I went to Chicago, which was around April, IIRC. The locals had told me we were lucky because the weather just turned nice as it was miserable a day or so before.

 

It will be a bit like reliving C3. Looking back, temps ranged from 33 to 68 degrees. It felt much colder than 33, probably because I was woefully underdressed for that sort of temp.

 

Last time I was in Chicago was Thanksgiving of 95. I froze my **** off. Surely April cannot be potentially bad as all that?

 

First, that looks like some fake Lou Malnati's location on the Gold Coast. You have to go to the original place on Wells street where the cockroaches stare at you from the walls as you eat your pizza and sometimes just dive right in to your deep dish as if it were some kind of swimming pool for cockroaches, which it more or less is at that location.

Second, this April had record cold weather, but usually mid April is fairly mild. Nothing special to complain or cheer about.

 

It's a crapshoot. In Missouri this year it snowed in April. I'm sure Chicago was similar.

 

Oh no, snow in April, quelle horreur.

This is the first May I've lived in Colorado where we haven't had snow (yet).

 

So I've now heard back from 2 of the 3 places interviewed and I didn't get those jobs. And since I haven't heard from #3 in a week, it's not looking good. Which is weird because they ended that interview by saying, "I hope we get a chance to work together"... So I don't know what the deal is :/

 

Well, they didn't where. Or when.

But "hope" doesn't make it sound good. Shouldn't they have more than hope?

 

Job searches are built on hope.
