ST New Canon Material (novels, TV shows, comics, games) and Eps. 8 & 9 - CAUTION: SPOILERS A'PLENTY!

Yeah, if that's the story for the game and the character you'll be playing as, count me in 100%. I like the sound of the whip/blaster combo; very Indiana Jones.

 

Star Wars comics serie shows more about Luke than Han or Leia (or even Sana, poor girl sometimes disappear and just appear arcs later), this is just an Annual comic. Now about Luke in The Last Jedi material: I believe we'll just see something more close to TLJ release (and more after it).

 

I hope they start to tell more stories in the ST timeline, I wish we could have at least a book set between ROTJ and TFA for the months before TLJ.

 

I know we'll get a ton eventually.

The real question is, which characters will star?

Would they do several Leia "political intrigue" stories, or stories of Han off doing whatever, with the "absent parents" thing hanging over those characters' heads?

Finn? Not sure. Poe? Certainly, lots of room there.

There's the FO I guess...

 

With that cover for Star Wars #36, I want to see a scene similiar to Rogue One's Darth Vader hallway scene, but with R2 in the place of Vader and stormtroopers instead of Rebel soldiers.

I agree. I love the CT and in an ideal world content from that era would continue. But I'm eager to learn more about the ST galaxy.

 

So I guess the Doctor Aphra #12 cover kinda spoils who the "dark figure" from Aphra's past is if it wasn't obvious already.

Oh yeah, Vader is back.

 

The Vader comics are fantastic. When the character is done right, and he's been done right a lot, he's possibly my favorite character. He's not just fun to watch and read, but interesting with his haunted psychology.

 

Just curious, when was the Journey to TFA line revealed in 2015?

I would expect Journey to TLJ to feature more than the Phasma comic.

 

For me the new comics are very bad and generic the only decent comics are The comic of Maul and the Obi-Wan and Anakin comic

 

There's also the Phasma novel, and the Leia: Princess of Alderaan, and Legends of Luke Skywalker books. I'm assuming that the Phasma book may act as a sequel of sorts to the Aftermath series, if it features Phasma's early life amidst the formation of the FO in the Unknown Regions. It's described as detailing Phasma's "mysterious history", so it might well.

 

Who wants to take bets on which Luke we'll get in the Legends book?

(Yes I know they're "legends" not canon but still...)

 

I doubt we will get anything substantial in this Luke journey book. Maybe 1-2 hints, but that's all I fear.

 

I think the stories in the book actually aren't canon. I mean, they're canon insofar as they're stories people in the galaxy tell about Luke, but that's it.

 

worse, so again zero canon about Luke until TLJ.

 

I think anyone expecting post ROTJ Luke stories outside of the movies before IX is released will be disappointed. Once 9 is out of the way we will have our fill indeed.
