True, but we have the problem of them not wanting or being able to use James Earl Jones too much. Which is kind of a problem, IMO.

I think it depends, isn't Rebels like TCW worked in advance seems like they brought Jones back for the finale and the premiere, maybe even more???? Even Billy Dee said that he's done voice work for Lando for S2, so it is possible.

 

I was looking as the TV guide, and it looks like we have a marathon for rebls before the finale.

Its going to be a good week between it, heir and leia.

A big twist like Ezra turning, or something bigger will really make be look at Rebels with better eyes. The show is good but entering that mature territory can only mean good things IMO.

But season 2 is a bit too early IMO.

If Ezra turned out to be Uber, or Kylo Ren... or indeed any significant character in the ST... that would, for me, legitimise the setting/story of Rebels. I think the show is better when it's a bit darker and less ' aren't we a fun and cool bunch of scamps' type thing.

 

I could see Ezra being either (I always wondered if the name Bridger was a nod to this) but equally I could see him being just Ezra.

I think the show is legitimate without him being the TFA villain, but that could also be really, really good.

I mean people are wondering where the new force users have come from in TFA. There's one right in front of us in the canon who would be Luke's age by TFA and who (if he does turn) would be a dark reflection of Skywalker. We'll see I guess.

 

Exactly. Could they keep Rebels and the ST independent? Yep, sure. But we have seen actors related to the franchise say Rebels was the key to everything. And while I think that was a bit PR stuff, I could see Ezra being Uber. Mainly because he will be around Luke´s age and, as you say, it would be the dark reflection to Luke. It´s very SW-ish to see a damn monster and then being told "guys, remember that lovely kid you saw in Rebels?, well, he is the monster".

Having said this, I think it might be too early to see Ezra fall.

2017 is the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, so I find it likely that they will air a new show in 2017. Which brings up another great question, will we get a Sequel-Sequel Trilogy in 2027

 

I will count on another SST a few years after ST is finished. Probably this time repeating the new cast. Maybe we move just 10 years in the timeline instead of 30.

yeah, I doubt Uber is Ezra.

 

I´m not putting any money there neither. But it could be interesting it they do it well.

I think Uber won´t be the ancient evil some think he is, but someone more inline with what Mizzlewump said back in the day. And I would believe he will end up being overpowered by Kylo Ren who, after all, will be part of the chosen one bloodline.

would have been cooler if Disney had made an animated miniseries lead up to VII set between VI and VII instead of a most likely non canon series.
