New "Clone Wars" TV Show--Questions

So I know that in addition to the new live action show that LucasFilm is planning, there will be a Clone Wars TV Show. But what purpose will it serve? Is it supposed to replace/expand upon the previous shorts, or does it occur at a different time? Any information on this show, which I guess is separate from the 'shorts', would be greatly appreciated.

 

Sorry. I searched with "Clone Wars TV" and like half the results had nothing to do with my question.

That could be the problem. Even if you did search here it is possible that you did not find any topics that matched what you are looking for, with this search engine you need to be very specific. Your best bet would be to check out the thread index before using the "search" feature because it contains a detailed list of subjects already covered in the forum.
