I wanted to share this with fellow Star Wars fans. In March 2009 I painted a large and detailed Star Wars mural onto a bedroom wall in Cheltenham, England. This dramatic mural includes a massive Darth Vader mask, Anakin Skywalker fighting Obi Wan Kenobi, and several space battles.

You can see the YouTube video here:

I've also posted a webpage showing how the mural was created over the course of several days, along with a set of photos:

Hope you enjoy looking at the mural!

I work very intensively when I'm painting. The mural took 25 hours, which is quick considering the amount of detail involved. I really enjoyed painting the fighters from episode 3, and the planet. The Darth Vader mask was also a lot of fun to paint. The figures in the middle were difficult, particularly their faces, because I did the initial drawing freehand, and they're each about 5 feet tall on the wall. I think I got Obi Wan pretty good, but Anakin wasn't quite right. But there we go.

The real struggle was amalgamating the different scenes into a pleasing whole. I think it's a very dramatic mural, and the kid whose wall it's on loves it! He's 4 years old, so he has a lot of childhood in front of him to enjoy it in. Although I don't think any Star Wars fan reall grows out of it!

What inspired you to do it for the kid?
