they should finish first the three already announced for 3 years... not postpone characters till 2014.. so I am not thrilled.. despite, look at the date... it is a joke.
New Star Wars guidebook: The Essential Guide to the Supernatural! Written by Tom Faie Tru-Ruler, this is the book for every fan who has ever wondered about the extraordinary things in this extraordinary galaxy far far away. ”Writing this is a dream come true”, says Mr. Tru-Ruler. ”At first they were considering Jason Fry, but he was out partying. Every Star Wars author has to party from time to time, you know.” How he was approached to write the guide he doesn't say, just that he was the right plumber at the right time. Anyway, writing all 220 pages of the guide was certainly a hard job, but Tom gives us a few insights in the process. ”Well we put a lot of pictures in it”, he says. ”And”, at this point he whispers, ”I used Wookieepedia a lot. And fan forums. The book practically wrote itself. And somehow I'm now a member of the Cult of Waru, but hopefully the tattoo is washable.” Here's page one of the Contents: ”I decided in the beginning that I shouldn't have the book be just about the Force as Jedi and Sith see and use it. We already have a guide for those things. This one is more about the weird things that could be the Force working in different ways, like the shamans of Endor or the Ark of Ryloth, but I wanted to keep the mystery. Life would be dull without it, right?” The book is still going through revisions. ”At first I wrote it in thick Irish accent”, Tom says, ”the editor is trying to make it more universal. There are still some points where it shows, like the epilogue, which in-universe is from the diary of The High Hermit of The Ancient Order of Pessimists. We are thinking of leaving it that way.” In the acknowledgments he thanks people from Wookieepedia. ”I can finally avenge my banning. Those uptight little siths and their overblown Star Destroyer lenghts. Well I have now written that the Executor was 400 meters long, who looks stupid now?” Unlike most authors, he doesn't thank Leland Chee. ”Who?” The Keeper of the Holocron. ”What now? Is it like with the Hat?” When asked about future projects, Tom has little to say. ”There has been talks about Imperial Commando 2, but I will only get to do it if Stover doesn't answer the phone when they call. That's why I have taken the battery off his phone.” STAR WARS: The Essential Guide to the Supernatural, coming February 2014. I love the style of the new artwork, esp for the cover and table of content page. Lately, official SW artwork has just been too colorful and detailed. This is back to the basics. Also nice to see that we are valued as a source of accurate and unbiased information. Can't wait to read about Kyle Katarn! This book would be meaningless without his legend. Not sure if 11 pages are enough though.
That Hat! I look forward to the revelation that its the corporeal manifestation of the Celestials true form and that the Ones of Mortis serve it. Father: *kneels before the Hat* What is thy bidding my master? The Hat: I sense a great disturbance in the Force....
I demand this publication be removed from the shelves for blasphemy. The Katarn was never mortal. This text is heretical and should be burned.
It's the Church of Waru, dammit! I should know, I founded the damn thing. I can only hope this glaring error will be correcting in the New Essential Guide to the Supernatural.
This is like one of those dreams where there's a really awesome book and you wake up to find it doesn't exist.
