No, I'm not new to SW(fan since 1979, 4 years old), and no, not new to DC(lived here 5 years now), but I am new to the Forum, and only know one other SW fan in the area. Looking to join the croud. Where do I start?

Hi there! Welcome to our weird little corner of fandom.

Just jump right in, we don't bite much unless asked. Or unless you're made of candy, then I make no promises.....

Seriously, just hop into our conversations, or come to a meeting. We'll have one in August, honest. Or if you see us planning something unofficial, feel free to join us. We've got the Pirate Weekend at the Renn Faire coming up and some of us are off to DragonCon over Labor Day weekend, if you're a con-goer. It's kind of quiet these days, as we're big old slackers who need to reclaim our slacker essence after all the Ep. 3 goings on.

Welcome to the madness, Trooper :p

So if we're having a meeting in August, shouldn't we maybe, possibly start thinking about that? Seeing as how it's August? :p

Ok take it from the chick from the Philly Fan Force...

Whiz, Provolone or Cheddar. Anything else would be considered unnatural to put on a cheesesteak. [face_laugh]

There's a restaurant here which serves it with whiz, provolone, or american (which they call the South New Jersey Philly Cheese Steak :p )

Edit: And with our same predictability we are way off-topic [face_laugh]

That is exactly why it is called a S. Jersey Cheesesteak, american cheese! :p

Hey didn't everyone figure it out yet that derailing threads has become a hobby of mine. ;)

    Mozzerella Rules!!!!

And it wasn't exactly derailing...it was expanding the topic at hand. :p

Mozzerella!?! Ok if I was going to have a Pizza Steak sure then I would have mozzerella, but if I'm out in Center City and wanted a Cheesesteak, I want the Whiz baby!! :p

What do you guys mean by "Whiz". Please don't tell me you put Cheese Whiz on a cheese steak. I haven't ever even been to Philly, but that just sounds wrong...very, very wrong.[face_worried]

Actually, it's an accepted practice in Philly from what I understand. Is that the South Philly Cheesesteak? Me, I prefere provolone.

Hey's what'sa that other place in Philly that's known for its Cheesesteaks besides Pat's? For some reason, I want to say Internation Diner or something.

R_T: Welcome to the gorup. Glad you could join us. Maybe someday will be having one of them meeting-things all the other FF chapters have talked about. :)

Are you thinking of Jim's or Gino's?

Ok time for everyone's chessesteak lesson for the day...

The 3 places in Philly known for their cheesesteaks are Gino's, Pat's & Jim's. Usually it's Pat's or Gino's that you would see on TV.

Now everyone and their sister make Philly Cheesesteaks, hell if your from the area you learn how to make them yourself like I did. Maybe, just maybe I'll come down for a visit and make cheesesteaks for everyone. But do bear in mind I would be using the whiz. [face_laugh]
