Would it be possible to get a new holiday banner this year? This one has been used how many times now? 3? 4?

Good way to keep things from being stagnant is making a new banner. I'd do it myself but it wouldn't go up due to....maturity levels.

How about a holiday banner for the Sci - Fi and Fantasy: TV and Film that is geared towards that board and NOT a SW holiday banner?

Not everyone has the skill or tools available to them to create banners. Or *looks at E_V* the mindset. ;)

So it's a valid question to see if there's some new holiday banners on the horizon - no need to turn it back onto them.

If someone's making one, we'd be glad to see it. :) It could probably be used, maybe.

If you aren't willing or able to make a new holiday banner, you shouldn't be whining that there isn't one. That seems to be common sense.

I will preface this post by saying I am not going to make a new holiday banner.

I think we could do with a new set of holiday banners.

    Yes, set!

But theres also an arguement for tradition. You know, Christmas is all about tradition. Cliff Richard on the radio with some ghastly Yultide song. Turkey on the day. Santa coming down the chimney. Mince Pies and Christmas Pudding. A nice snow covered landscape, like in a Dikens novel. Mum and Dad having a huge row before the evening. Old Nan sat sleeping in the corner drunk on sherry. Grandad breaking wind and everybody trying their hardest to pretend they haven't noticed. You get the idea....

So, I say, lets keep the traditional JC banners. :D

Well if we are talking about tradition then I'd like the snowing in the YJCC just like back in 2003! :D

Also, are there 2 December Holiday banners or 3? Could we get screenshots of them perhaps if there are 3? I'd like to be able to post it for the Chapter Reps so that we can choose for the FF forums.

    Please and thank you. :)

I think there are actually four(well five if you count SWC's new banner), including the one Strilo personally made for PT, but is a generic holiday banner.

    Banner 1
    Banner 2
    Banner 3
    Banner 4

    ...how embarrassing.

    :p
Still, by that token and approach the only people that could ask about new holiday banners would be banner-makers. Which doesn't fall under communal sense to me.

However, requesting is different from whining. However however, I don't think you were whining.

I'd love to see some new banners, myself, although the old ones are nice, too.

Would someone please plop Everton down in front of some Star Trek reruns, so the grownups can talk?

I am highly impressed with your manners. They are far beyond anything that I have experienced in someone of your age and maturity level. Most children would just have said, 'What?'. Tell your parents that I said they have raised a fine young boy...even if you are a dirty Trekkie.

    No.
One, Everton was right, there is a difference between requesting (see:You,sidious618) and whining (see: Juliet and E_V). Someone saying "Golly, it would be cool to have new banners!" is different from saying "This one has been used how many times now? 3? 4?" (end of the world!).
Two, I said people who are willing and able to make banners. Not some magical sect of JCers exalted as "teh almighty makers of banner." That means anyone with a decent photo manipulation program and some time. Actually, banners have been made in MS Paint before... so that means anyone with some time. And we all post at the JC, so that means all of us.
    That's pretty communal.
