AaylaSecurOWNED; I read into the question, not the whine. It's true what you and Everton have said - there is a difference, and an important one at that when you ask questions. However, I was just looking for the point of the thread (any new banners?) not the part where we could pick out someone's complaining or inability.

But I do believe that not everyone can make banners from the get-go. Just like not everyone can write a book at first even though they try. It takes things (work/talent/tools etc) to get to a level of adequate ability.

 

Everyone can make banners. Maybe not good ones, but they can try. And even bad banners get uploaded, see: Aforementioned MS Paint Games Banner.

We'd love to have some updated banners for the holidays, but didn't have time to put a call out with the Arena opening up, plus, we didn't get but one entry for Halloween. (Although Sebulba made one that has yet to be uploaded...) We just didn't see the interest from banner makers in the months prior, and that's fine. The banners we have are nice, too.

 

I'm sorry, but I thought this thread would've gotten locked by now, but since its evolved into a real thread of discussion I might as well make an honost to goodness I give a frak post.

The banner you're speaking of was made by Dan and it is a holy symbol to some of us and it kicks a lot of ass, its not a horrible banner, its awesome.

Now to get off the holy banner, I'm going to reply to the actual topic or rather lack of topic that was created in 30+ replies.


Honostly I don't think its too late to do a winter banner contest, I know some people can make up some nifty banners in a day or so, and while last years contest was a bust as it had I think 1/2 entries total, theres no reason why there can't be another one. VIPship and colors for a month should prove some incentive. I was just rather surprised that there wasn't a contest for it this year.

I've been attempting to work on a banner for sometime now all holidayish and I'm hoping to have it ready for your viewing pleasure in a few days.

 

It's only December 4th. I don't care if anyone wants to try a banner. It's not a guarantee it'll be uploaded. But we're always open to new banners.

 

If we can't get new banners can we at least get some of the coding right on some of the older banners so that the right boards are reflected on the drop down menu? I don't think half ot those boards in there when you use the main board and YJCC page are active anymore and the Arena isn't even listed at all in the dropdown menues yet.

 

I've just finished a few RL projects so I have some free time on my hands. I may cook something up this week.

Its part of my holiday banner of Battlestar Galactica kicking the ass out of Star Wars. Viper blowing up a Jedi Starfighter and Kara Thrace drinking to that. I threw in Luke's hand getting chopped off cause its kewl. I'm still working on the Galactica blowing up an ISD in the main banner.
