Well despite the lackluster nature of KOTCS a new Indiana Jones novel is to be released next Spring. The new IJ novel is titled Indiana Jones And The Army Of The Dead. Speculation is it takes place during WWII (or shortly after). Indy is working (or worked) for the forerunner to the CIA. He learns of some ancient artifact that revives the dead. Thus creating an army of zombies. Despite the so-so nature of KOTCS this new novel might be good. I mean Indy versus ZOMBIES! It is being written by Steve Perry (Shadows Of The Empire, Aliens VS. Predator comic novelization, etc.).

    P.S.

Keep in mind the above is speculation. It might be that this new novel is post-KOTCS. Indy and his son, Mutt might be facing the zombie hordes. That kinda makes sense. If Temple Of Doom, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, The Last Crusade reflect the time period/film style of the 30s/40s serials and KOTCS reflects the time period/film style of the 50s (flying saucers and Red scare paranoia). Then it might be that this new novel will pick up the time period/film style of the 60s. One of the more iconic films of the 60s was George Romero's low-budget zombie flick. Wonder if Flower Power will have a spin in this new novel?
