About the only new is the new in New Jedi Order.

 

Yeah... and I still haven't read all of LotF so I'm probably not the right person to legitimately revive this thread. I'm just still lost over the way it ends. And I wanted to say hi.

It still seems like there's always a new SW book out though? Is there another ongoing series?

Not that I am aware of, the NuEU just got started and as far as I know they are just stand alone books for now. Of course I haven't been keeping up with those either so I could be mistaken.

 

Ah okay. I just keep seeing a SW book or two featured at my local book store and assumed it was new. I guess I should have done mire than glance at the cover and grin

I guess the whole it being moved to "Legends" won't do much to attract new fans either :/ Boo.

 

There might be a trilogy or two coming in the coming years if reports are to believed.

I apologize beforehand if my questions don't fit in this forum. Does anyone else here watch SoA? My girl friend just introduced me to the show, although I've had no interest in the series, and we've watched this final season together. Being that I enjoyed LotF so much, I thought that this final season is almost comparable to the story-line of LotF. I tried to explain it to her, but it didn't go too well. Can any of you see any similarities between the final season of SoA and LotF?

What is SoA? I cannot think of anything that could fit that acronym.

Also, how did everyone felt about the way the NJO wrapped up? Were you satisfied or thought it should have went into a different direction?

I was not sure what to expect leading up to that finale when I first read it. I knew that it would be pretty hard to reverse the impact on the galaxy that the Vong had made and with how entrenched they had became towards the end…. what could they do with them? Kinda like the end of Return of the King when Frodo goes "How does one go on…?"

The journey itself, some books kinda felt like filler or not so properly connected to the other books but given the immense size of the project… that must have been a difficult job to keep things together.

I've never seen it. It wouldn't hold my interest. But it is popular with some.

 

No SoA here, but to answer the NJO question, I never made it past star by star after I found out Jaina was the star of the next book (read LOTF/FOTJ first and hate her guts)

 

Ahh… what did they do to Jaina in those books that make you not like her? (I haven't read beyond the 2nd Dark Nest Trilogy book in terms of the timeline so only a vague idea about the LOTF/FOTJ series)

 

That's why most people, including myself, believe the post-NJO to be a load of baloney, which is why I never bothered to read it.

JediFan215's post in the Jacen Solo thread answers that question, and the reason is Jaina killing Jacen, when it seems like he came back to the light.

 

I like FOTJ. Ben became my favorite character after Jacen's death, but I still hate Jaina and believe that she deserves a painful death with Jag watching helpless.
