New Lightsabers from Rubies..eww....

I havent seen them in person so I wanted to know if they still suck like Episode I's?

Ive only seen pictures of the Dooku one and it looks horrible.

I want the Mace one but I dont know if the quality is the same as the last ones or has it changed?

 

The blades still blow, but I actually like the Mace Windu saber. I have not seen the Obi-Wan, Anakin is so-so. But you are right, the Dooku is horrible. I am waiting to see if the do like they did for Episode 1 and change the design after a few months....the EI sabers really, really blew when they first came out, but Rubles changed the designs for Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan's after a while and looked much better. In fact, the second Obi-Wan looks much better than the Hasbro one. But, I recommend the Mace if you want a cheap saber...Hasbro won't have one out for a while.

 

And really, if Hasbro can do it why cant Rubie's also have locking blades? They make it much for fun to have those.

Do you know how long the saber is with extended blade? My Delux Anakin is 3 feet long with saber extended and I heard that the Rubies are longer.

They aren't bad, even the clip has changed. I haven't seen teh new Obi Wan, but bought teh Anakin. The downside is how thick it is, nearly impossible to twirl.

I like teh switch through, looks covertech, and has got a dumb lip, and once you cut it away it clips into the actual clips.

So Rubies redesigned their sabers? From what to what?

I don't think I still have any of the first Obi-Wan sabers but I have the second version. I'll try to get some pics. Here is a pic of the Windu saber extended. click

 

Is the blade transluscent like on the Deluxe versions or is it thin solid plastic like the other ones?

I thought it'd be a darker purple, looks kinda light.

Actually the new blades are thinner

 

The curving on his saber starts pretty much form the tip. This one doesnt curve intil the end of the saber. And it almost curves at a 90 degree angle.

Of course it was so the blade could retract into the hilt but still, it takes away from the look.

*sigh*.....poor Rubie's.

Yes, poor rubies. They look great, just non functional...

Thinner and somesort of blade locking mechanism...I think it should be a rod anyway...sold and somewhy to clip in

where's a Rubies website? I really want the Anakin saber, I have the second version of Obi's from Ep one and it's held up pretty good considering although lately I have to stay away from battling because the blade keeps flying off, and makes for a danger to anyone watching us roleplay. They aren't great but for a poor person like me they are wonderful. Where did you buy them those of you that have them?

 

Costume Stores are great, I got mine at "Toys, Toys. Toys" in Toronto.
