    We've got screenies for the Xbox and Gamecube out. And being the B@stard that I am and since it's incredibly boring in here as of late and since no matter who confirms the numbers some will not accept it, let's do a comparison for fun.

    [image=http://www.eagames.nl/graphics/screenshots/4576.jpg] Xbox
    [image=http://www.eagames.nl/graphics/screenshots/4567.jpg]gamecube

    Hmm the gamecube's not bad but the uniform seems rather boxy. Kinda like there's a shortage of polygons or something. Gosh why's that? [face_devil]

    [image=http://www.eagames.nl/graphics/screenshots/4581.jpg] Xbox scope

    [image=http://www.eagames.nl/graphics/screenshots/4575.jpg] Gamecube scope
    Wow look at those jaggies. hmmm

    [image=http://www.eagames.nl/graphics/screenshots/4579.jpg] Xbox uniform

    [image=http://www.eagames.nl/graphics/screenshots/4574.jpg] gamecube human/uniform

    well you get the idea.

    Either way you go the graphics are good but I thought since numbers don't impress you that pictures are worth a thousand posts.
    (yes yes and we all know the console war is stupid but then so is debating games on the internet so lets have some fun here :) )

    No offense Tenor, but this is the wrong game to use for a fanboy rant. :p After all this is a EA port job, meaning that neither game is being designed with each consoles strengths. Both the Cube and The Xbox version are going to be held back by the PS2's old tech and lack of graphical punch.

    Xbox Screen, notice the jaggies aswell? ;)

    Edit: Disregard this post entirely. :p

    The Xbox is somewhat comparable, but I'd have to agree. PC MoH graphics (AND GAMEPLAY FPS ON CONSOLES SUCK!!11) are vastly superior to its PS2, GC, and Xbox counterparts.

    There we go. Argue that all you want.

    I agree with Dan. MOHAA's graphics are better than either console version.

    I have a Gamecube, but I must admit... those X-Box graphics are better.

    Actually it depends on the PC. On mine it'd look worse than the PS2 (till christmas; I knew in-laws were good for something).

    And while the mouse/keyboard combo has more buttons that you can map, 2 analog beats a mouse, keypad anyday of the week. (plus, what good is the extra buttons if they 8 inches away from the number pad?

    Hey, I didn't know wasd was on my numpad... My bad...

    As for the analog sticks, I really doubt you can do fast enough direction changes, and you're probably far less precise (and fast) at aiming than with a mouse - that at least from what I've seen in MGS2, since its the only "FPS" I ever played on console.

    The PS1/2 controler sucks for 3d gaming. I seriously reccomend you try out a setup like the Xbox's controler before you state that one's better than the other (and check out a better game for FPS as MGS is more of a F/3rdPS hybrid). I cannot say for the gamecube controler but N64 was subpar for FPS, PS's sucks but Xbox's is terrific because you've got your movement on one analog, your aiming on another, plus you can still hit 8 buttons without moving your hand off of either analog. Very nice for FPS.

    I haven't really tried, that's why I say 'doubt'. I just have a really hard time imagining how an analog stick can be better than the good old mouse for aiming. But I'll give it a try if I can.

    I didn't think so either but it's the same concept as a trackball basically, except without the rolling. I like it. I think they've got some like the Xbox controler for the PC too.

    2 analog beats a mouse, keypad anyday of the week.

    [face_laugh]

    That's why people use WASD and a mouse so they have several buttons at their disposal. WASD, the space bar, and the five buttons on my mouse plus the scroll whell is superior to any console controller available. At least for the average man without 8 fingers and two thumbs per hand. The problems with console controllers are that coordination with two analog sticks is a lot more difficult than using a single mouse and that while your thumbs are occupied with the analog sticks, they can't be anywhere else. Yes, you can use the L and R buttons, but that's only two functions. What about other important things like manual aiming and jumping and reloading and switching weapons? You have to take your thumbs off of the analog sticks for that.

    No Dan, you don't have to take your fingers off for any buttons except start and selelect. And actually it's 10 buttons counting the push-in analog feature. Yes you can use WASD as well, but I never liked it as much as the keypad for control (but then again I use the Keypad in my job so much it's just natural.

    And an analog stick works great for aiming. Now for point and click a mouse is better but for directional aiming the Xbox controler superior IMO.

    How would you touch another button (say, on the right side of the controller) without taking your thumb off of the thumbstick? With another finger?

    And how many games support things like *hit the R shoulder button and press in the analog stick* that support meaningful functions like jumping or reloading? I suppose, though, that with the PS2 controller with 4 shoulder pads it's reasonable.

    And I guess mouse vs. two analog sticks for the ease of aiming is your preference, but I really can't understand how someone could choose two sticks over a mouse. Oh well.

    What you talkin bout willis?. There is no PC version of Medal Of Honor Frontline. As such the PC cannot be factored into this comparison. Therefore Xbox wins by default. :D :p :p
