New mini-tournament: Favourite CGI Character - Tournament. Started!

Please post your suggestions in this thread. Out of respect for your fellow posters, do not nominate more than 4 characters in one post, and do not post back to back. (if you do so, your nominations will be edited and ignored)

This tournament is a companion tournament to the last one, which was your favourite animated character. That was 64 nominations, but as it stands, I do not believe that we'll get that many nominations for this one. So, tentatively, we'll make it 32 places. If it gets higher, I may open it up to 64.

The criteria for selection will be left solely up to me, however I will almost certainly consult the participants before making any major changes. The general guideline, however, is that nominated characters are Computer Generated characters in a filmed environment. I'm sure that, being a Star Wars board, some obvious names come to mind: Yoda, Jar-Jar, etc.

Question: How do characters like Captain Barbossa fit into this? The skeleton form of him is great, but I probably like him more because of his live performance and that may affect feelings towards the CGI character. I lean towards no, but I just want to confirm this.

I was going to ask the same question as Tyi: what about partial-CGI characters (eg the T-1000 from T2)?

Wait... so I take it we cant use the likes of Game Characters. Dang, oh well.

But are we looking only at CGed characters in live-action movies? If so I doubt there aren't even 32 that spring to mind. Because it seems the purely CG movies would come under 'animated character'. Unless that was only for cel animation.

Anyway I nominated the entire cast of the Incredibles.

 

I'd bet there are 32, especially considering most of the characters in the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe were animated. Plus there are more from Harry Potter as well as Star Wars. Most of the looney tunes were in Space Jam and there's another one with Brandon Fraiser and some animated characters but I can't come up with the movie name.

 

hey, is the half-decomposed Mummy from Mummy&M.Returns eligible? The Scorpion King is, but does anyone really want to nominate him?

Out of curiosity, how could characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Shrek, Mike Wazowski, or any of the Incredibles count in this CGI tournament when they don't fit the bill and in fact were in the last animated tournament?

(Not to mention all the people from Final Fantasy!) See:

The difference here, is:
Animated character = from a film that is entirely CG. Whether Disney style or Shrek style; it's animated.

CGI character = a computer graphics character done in a film that involves live actors in a live environment. Such as Gollum, or Saphira, things like that. It doesn't just mean a character that is 3D such as Shrek. That is classified as animation.

No, it's fine horsey. Pictures are simply to make the nomination look, err, cooler.

If you'd like to see that one, I guess you'll have to find it somewhere (Internet Movie Database and wikipedia had good pictures, but as I said, neither site would work).
