New Rebel Dream description up

i'm really excited for rebel dream now!
i read the description over at jedinet and came straight here to discuss it! it's the luke part that i'm happiest about. i'm glad he's finally decided to act. luke rules!, but he hasn't done enough in the njo. i want to see him get out there and show his true jedi powers! go luke!

 

Yuuzhanvong stronghold, will that be corascant?

Just because he knocked out the empire twice he can't solve any crisis single-handedly.

Or can't they afford to buy decent weapons?

If Luke dies, I'm not reading any more of these books. (I know I've said similar things in the past, but they're so darned addictive...)

 

Luke is safe until at LEAST the final NJO book, IMO

 

Luke is definitively safe in any paperback.

 

No way Luke's going anywhere before HC5, IMO. If anyone goes amybe it'll be Lando...

We also know Face and maybe some of the other Wraiths are supposed to be in the book. Maybe Luke infiltrates with this group. The Wraiths are reknowned for infiltration, although that was originally infiltrating humans. But if the Vong stronghold is Coruscant, and if there are resistance groups there, this could work nicely.

 

I really like this, but I see your guys' point.

It DOES seem kind of funny that after saying that he could never inflitrate the stronghold because hes too well known, he goes and infiltrates a stronghold.

But every decent book needs a stronghold infiltration, right???

 

he was too well knwon to allow himself to be captured, not infiltrate

 

THe galaxy is at war! Why the jedi were exterminated largely because their numbers were thinned as a result of the Clone wars. Imagine that when Ben Skywalker is old enough to be a Jedi Master in his own right some younster saying to him "you were alive during the Vong wars". I personally like the peril that all of the characters face. Let the New Republic fall it never would have survived without the Jedi anyway!

 

Maybe Ackar will be back with the military, since he was so involved with Wraith and Rogue squadrons.

I don't think my stomach can take anymore main character deaths! In any event, I don't think that Luke will die anytime soon. He is Star Wars. I wonder what Kyp will think of this mission. Hmmm.

 

He better be dead by the end of NJO. It would make the series complete and fulfilling, no matter what books were written before it.

Kip will probably take Luke going on a mission inside enemy teritory as a sign that he finally has permission-not that he needed it-from Luke to wage an all out war against the Vong and will try to convince the other jedi of this as well

 

I kind of thought the same thing about Kyp, only I thought Luke might get into some serious trouble and Kyp will go and rescue him or something. What do you think? Likley?

 

Kyp rescue Luke? Doubtful, but possible. After all, he is a jedi, and not rescuing Luke would be like being a knight of the round table and not rescuing arthur. I hope Luke doesn't get in trouble because then he will find a way out of it and once again, the pansy will be a super-great, all powerful jedi master
