Evan, IN NEW Robotech Live-Action/CGI Movie Has Empire And Raiders Writer

    Big news for Macross/Robotech fans! Lawrence Kasdan is writing the screenplay for the NEW live-action/CGI Robotech movie. Kasdan is one of the more important reasons that the classic SW trilogy and Raiders Of The Lost Ark work as films. Without Kasdan (and Gary Kurtz) we got the weaker SW prequels and a weaker IJ IV. Anyways the success of Transformers on the big-screen has prompted this new Robotech movie. Word is Toby McGuire might be ace vertitech pilot Rick Hunter. Also I should note that Kasdan is behind the re-make of Clash Of The Titans. Which may start production very soon.

    I just hope they don't give Macross the "Speed Racer" treatment of dazzling effects and crap for everything else cause it deserves
    very serious consideration and not just some flash.

    Another reason to love the new 'live-action'/CGI Robotech movie...

    Batman Begins producer is behind the project! So we have this producer and Lawrence Kasdan teaming together to bring us the story of the SDF-1 and it's crew! For those not up on Robotech - think the new Battlestar series meets recent Transformers movie meets Voltron.
