This ship is going to turn out really nice. I agree about the homework, luckily for me, my Algebra 2 teacher forgot to give us some.

And a back shot since i just finished reworking the engines (they used to be a glowing rectangle :)) NOTE: the side engine areas are going to be filled as well along the same lines as this center part but right now i have to do other things.. like sleep :)

yeah, download, you know, when you click and then the mesh is on your computer, and you can have fun with it, and don't have to do any modelling work.

    ill think about it..

In case you were interested tho, you'd have to convert it to a Max format since i use lightwave

oh btw yesterday the model topped 120k polys and still more to come

Cool, so far my computer can hold it, my Anakin's Speeder Full res model had 251k. I bet that yours will have like 200k or around there.

im sure it will.. you have to remember roughly 30% of the ship hasnt been built yet :) there is that gaping space in the front that needs ... stuff

heh thanx to those who've commented

Jones: the boat designs were my more favorite too.. but im weird and i liked this one more :p

im not sure where this one is going.. at the moment.. hence the long waits between updates.. however i did a bit of brain storimg and came up with 4 possible variants..

a "gaint gun with engines" type ship
a destroyer/cruiser (filling in the space in the front with .. sutff)
a carrier type ship (naturally .. hanger bays go in the gap)
or a massive kind of central flagship for a fleet.. with the gap in the front for repairs of smaller capital ships.. (i know random :p but hey it gives a purpose to the gap :))

anyway here are some small updates as well

or based on the way the front splits and has that recessed piece in the middle, it could be a ship intended to ram its target, breach the hull, and deploy units(whether large or small) into the belly of the enemy ship...

    great work...!

#1: Experimental weapons platform. I'm ripping off of Larry Niven here, but the two thingies that jut out from the front could be disintegrator beams. One would neutralize the charge on the proton, and the other would neutralize the charge on the electron. Besides tearing apart huge volumes of matter whereever the beams touched down, the beams would establish a MASSIVE potential difference between them. Anything in the middle would get fried.

I'm going to go ahead and cast my vote for a strong 50/50 or 60/40 mix of what Darksteps and Diablo said... cause... dang.

What about a mining vessel? Manoeuvre rocks in between the sticky out plate bit things and then use diabloblanco17's idea to pulverise them into dust which is pulled into the main body of the ship for processing...

or not... that's a bit lame next to ramming...

Love the detailing, though I'm with Dr Jones on the design, preferred the boat one. This looks more suited to a small hot-rod than a giant capital ship.
