I know....but as someone who had lost any interest in Harrison as an actor.....that shot is a miracle and he's not even moving his lips.

I think the last thing I thought he was stellar in was Air Force One..which was...jeezus nearly 20 years ago!

He was also OKAY in Cowboy's VS Aliens....not great, but okay.

 

He was excellent in 42. It was his best screen performance since Richard Kimble.

Harrison Ford has always been Harrison Ford, given that Fugitive is one of his best films.

 

Thank goodness, that stoic, emotionless fighting in the Matrix sequels and some other movies completely kills immersion.

 

Don't know if y'all have talked about it yet, but the score is new music from John Williams according to Variety. I'm hoping that's Maz's theme, it has that mysterious, almost Harry Potter-like sound to it.

Is that Billie Lourd standing to Not-Donald Sutherland's right? I wonder what her role in the Rebellion/Resistance is, because she seems rather young to be at the "command table." Especially compared to everyone else who's there, intriguing.

 

Yeah, but in a sort of superficial, "fairy dust" kind of way. There doesn't seem to be depth in it. Or yearning. Or a sense of profound wonder. It's whimsical in a sugary way. Like a gingerbread house. I hope (and expect) that there's much more to it.

Also, it could be perfectly appropriate at a certain spot in the film. Just didn't mesh well with the trailer, IMO.

Agreed. It's one of very few shots I've been unimpressed with, and that's simply because it looks so digital.

Well... to Not-Donald Sutherland's right is Han Solo... to Not-Donald Sutherland's left (right to US) could possibly be Billie Lourd.

 

I think she might be Leia's other kid.

 

The rumor that debunked Billie Lourd playing a young Leia awhile ago said that she's playing a member of Leia's entourage, i.e., an assistant.

 

^Correct. And that definitely looks like Lourd.

 

TFA IN FIVE MINUTES

 

That's really cool. Footage is stunning and great music choice.A couple of things seem out of whack - "BB8, hold on!" "I can do it" and Rey punching it on the Falcon all come before we see the Falcon flying I think, and I think Finn looking up from that base is Finn on Takodana, not Jakku (this cut seems to make it look as if Han and Chewie are the ones coming to the rescue in the Falcon). I'd also put Finn and Rey's intros before we cut back to Ren, I think the STarkiller blast comes a little later, and I think Maz hands the saber to Leia after all the Takodana stuff and before the Starkiller stuff. Still, nitpicks. Really cool.
