Niagara, ON New to the Niagra Area

hi everyone, this is my first post to the jedi council (well i was a member a long time ago but thats besides the point), and i moved to st, catharines in septmeber as i go to brock. saw this forum and just wanted to see what it was all about. hope to talk to u more soon.

i was wondering what kinda stuff the YJN does.

 

What kind of stuff YJN does:

Get togethers

Usually there are some members of the club meeting up to partake in some kind of activity. We also have semi-regular meetings every few months to discuss major club events.

Events

This year we've had two 24 hr line-ups at the Pen Centre for Attack of the Clones, one for the ticket sales, the other for the 1st showing. We had a weekend trip to Darien Lake, been in the Grape & Wine Festival parade, celebrated the IMAX sceeening in Mississauga at the request of Lucasfilm, and participated in the Niagara Falls Santa Claus parade to name just some of the highlights.

Charity

Our most important and biggest events revolve around our charity. The Episode II events in May were also highlighted by a raffle in which we raised over $2000 in about a week. We've had other smaller fundraisers throughout the year, and we are currently helping our charity with their own major fundraiser.

2003

Changes are in the works for 2003. A more regular meeting schedule is being worked on, there is talk about having a Classic Trilogy screening for charity. We'll have another raffle in the spring, and lots more. I don't want to get it into any details until they've been worked out.

So all-in-all we are a fairly busy and active Star Wars fan club, and the best is yet to come!

I'm a 2/3. Sounds stupid to say, but that's what I am - I'm on both the 2nd year and 3rd year COSC student mailing lists, this is how I know ;p

Last year I said screw this crap and went from doing 5 credits every year to 3.5. I'm the man.

 

I'm in 3rd year

And since I am in teacher's college next year only one more semester ever of exams!
Woo hoo!
