I'm going to go with No, as young adult books hardly count as novels. I agree that some are quite good, but they also take 30 minutes to an hour tops to read one

 

However small they may be, the Jedi Apprentice books pwns at least a third of the 'proper' novels?if not more.

Thanks, droideka. I actually like that decision, because I didn't read a single one of those not-quite-novels. That's not a falsely biased opinion about their quality, it's just too much to read really everything.

Do the Young Jedi Knights series still count?

And hey...for a child, those books take longer than half an hour to read!

 

YJK/JJK definitely count among the young reader stuff (it's in their description somewhere). In fact, that's what I was asking about, since they're far more prominent than the Prequel era books - at least to me.

 

The YJK count among the young readers books or count in this tournament? I'm confused.

They're each around 200 pages long... you can fit a decent story in that.



Last stubborn suggestion: What if we counted the JA series as a book? As in, the whole series as just one entry in this tourny? All up they'd be about a 5 or so novel series in size....

No. 5 or so novels in size worth of stuff really isn't fair to compete against a regular novel anyways. That's why i put the novel bit in.

Although it should be noted that I am going to consider the Tales books and the Han Solor Adventures and the Lando Calrissian Adventures as One book each.

I'd like to get 128 nominations. I figure we'll start the tourny within a week.

 

Yeah, but there aren't 128 Star Wars novels. If you've got 79, then there are maybe ten more books to nominate. You're better off going with 64 books and dropping the deadweight like Jedi Trial, The Crystal Star, and other stuff that has a snowball's chance of winning.

 

Oh hmmm. Well, um I guess 64 it will be then!

EDIT: I got rid of some of those that were last to be nominated, and also got rid of the Tales nominations. We're now at 64. But i need to prepare the list and get the new thread started, so look for it tomorrow!
