. . what do you mean, "or else"?

[face_shhh] That was for the benefit of everyone else.... I know you already know.... :p

how comes you understand the rules so well? I find that ... suspicious. And discomforting

Ah-ha! Is that why everyone else is so blind...? Learning rules is discouraged.... Ahhh... it all falls into place now.... [face_mischief]

but nobody ever confirmed if all the teen novels/ young reader stuff counts, too, so I ignored them for the time being. Not only can I count, I can also read [face_mischief]

Nice one. That effectively makes you look like you knew everything all along....
    :p

We'll have to wait for the supreme power to confirm or discount those other books. And you're not it. :p

Ah, yes, socialising. Ahem. Well, here's some more nominations to make this post a useful one: :p

    Tales From the Empire
Tales From the New Republic (I still don't even know if Tales are counted...? [face_laugh])
    Children of the Jedi
    Planet of Twilight

    Serious suggestions only, please :p

    [face_laugh] Hahaha!

Just offering a wide selection of books to vote on. Just because I nominated them doesn't mean they are super good books....

And what was that about socialising?

    :p

Ha! If you are looking for serious suggestions, I just remembered: One of the Lando Calrissian Adventures is up there!! (Even I wouldn't dare step there....)

Hey! I nominated that book! :p Not that it necessarily deserves to win, mind you. But still... :p

    *is proud*

If there's a confirmation from droideka, I'll nominate a couple more, um, 'Young Readers' books.... [face_whistling]

This is an amusing thread. :p

I don't believe these have been nominated yet:

    Destiny's Way
    Dark Journey
    The Truce at Bakura
    Jedi Trial

    It's painful to nominate those last two, but hey, it's all for a good cause, right? 8-}

I'm going to go with No, as young adult books hardly count as novels. I agree that some are quite good, but they also take 30 minutes to an hour tops to read one :p

    :_|

However small they may be, the Jedi Apprentice books pwns at least a third of the 'proper' novels?if not more.

    I can also read mischief

(^ Quote from droideka quoting TwiLekJedi)

    I find that amusing. [face_laugh]

Thanks, droideka. I actually like that decision, because I didn't read a single one of those not-quite-novels. That's not a falsely biased opinion about their quality, it's just too much to read really everything.

this might be the first tournament where I know (almost) all entries (well, apart from the Star Wars lines and characters tournaments)

Do the Young Jedi Knights series still count?

And hey...for a child, those books take longer than half an hour to read! :p

YJK/JJK definitely count among the young reader stuff (it's in their description somewhere). In fact, that's what I was asking about, since they're far more prominent than the Prequel era books - at least to me.

The YJK count among the young readers books or count in this tournament? I'm confused. [face_worried]

They're each around 200 pages long... you can fit a decent story in that. ;)

Last stubborn suggestion: What if we counted the JA series as a book? As in, the whole series as just one entry in this tourny? All up they'd be about a 5 or so novel series in size....

No. 5 or so novels in size worth of stuff really isn't fair to compete against a regular novel anyways. That's why i put the novel bit in.

Although it should be noted that I am going to consider the Tales books and the Han Solor Adventures and the Lando Calrissian Adventures as One book each.

So how long do we nominate before the tournament starts?

I'd like to get 128 nominations. I figure we'll start the tourny within a week.

Yeah, but there aren't 128 Star Wars novels. If you've got 79, then there are maybe ten more books to nominate. You're better off going with 64 books and dropping the deadweight like Jedi Trial, The Crystal Star, and other stuff that has a snowball's chance of winning.

Oh hmmm. Well, um :p I guess 64 it will be then!

EDIT: I got rid of some of those that were last to be nominated, and also got rid of the Tales nominations. We're now at 64. But i need to prepare the list and get the new thread started, so look for it tomorrow!
