Good performance last night. They reminded me of the Yankees of old; capitalizing off mistakes. Alot of small ball, smart base running and good pitching. Just need to keep it up. Damn Indians won too.

OK, so Randy Johnson's pretty clutch, too. However, you have to wonder about his knee with the way he landed while pitching to a couple of batters in the 7th.

I'm amending my 2090 chat to make it more meaningful.

From here on out to the end of the season, the chant will be 1978.

That's right, The Ghost of Bucky is alive.

    1978! 1978!

    Go Yanks!

The chant would be more fitting if Giambi's HR came in the bottom of the 9th after both pitchers went all 9 innings, but enjoy it while you can. Good luck tonight against the "Best Team in Baseball" [face_devil].

    GO D-RAYS!!!!!

I think I need to start up a "Giambi for President" campaign.

Sox loose again to the Canadian Powerhouse Blue Jays. It's almost over Beantown. Soon the division will be ours.

    Go Yanks!

Hey everyone, looks like someone is learning how to count! Isn't that just adorable? Awww! How cute! [face_mischief]

Oakland will own the Sox this weekend.

Hello, Yankee fans, you out there? This is looking more like a Fenway thread lately. Whats up with that? Let show some pride. Our boys are closing in. Boston's goose is about to go into the oven. Let's help them put it in.

    1978!

    Go Yankees!

Don't take that carving knife out of the drawer just yet Moby. Even if the Sox leave Fenway with nothing better than a split with the A's they are going to Tampa Bay next (whom the Sox OWN) then to Baltimore who despite their struggles against the O's this year should have no problem disposing of them now that they are packing up for a long winter. Not to mention the season finale at home against the Yankees :D. Anything could happen but despite their troubles lately don't think that the Sox are going to be that easy to slip by, not this time ;).

I hear ya Moby. We're here.

Last night was a close one, which is sad. Ahh, that great Yankees
    bullpen.

So sad watching the sox win like that. Oh well.

    Need a stronger road trip.

With the two teams even in the loss column, I've stopped counting...for now. [face_devil]

Actually Moby the Boston media pushed the panic button when the Sox lost 2 of 3 to the Yankees earlier this month, not like that's a big surprize.

Enjoy it while you can NY, it won't last long.

{Moby swinging the Lucasville Slugger] Back Red Sox fans, back! This is a Yankees thread, or so I thought. Back I say! [/Moby swinging the Lucasville Slugger]

Guys, where's the love? Won't you defend your thread?

**pulls out Schiiling's bloody sock and wards off Moby's attacks**

Your Lucasville Slugger does not scare me Moby!!!

If this weekend showed us anything it's that with 7 games left anything can happen. I would have rather seen the Sox and Yankees schedule for the next 4 games reversed, but I'll take it anyway. I think that both teams need to be weary though. After getting beaten up by the Sox and Yankees, both Toronto and Baltimore could turn out a really tough series this week. Only time will tell...

Right down to the wire, eh? I was hoping for a quick neck snap, instead it's going to be chinese water torture.

I think both teams want Cleveland OUT of the picture. Annoying teams like that are prone to pull post season magic out of thier butts.

It's a staring contest. Let's see who flinches.

I agree. Cleveland is going to be the spoiler that will but either the Sox or the Yankees out of the playoffs. It's definately going to be all or nothing this weekend!

Could you imagine if they end in a tie and Boston and the Yanks are playing next monday for the AL East Crown at Yankee stadium.

All i know is that this week, into the weekend, is going to be must watch baseball, starting tonite in Baltimore. God I wish the Mets were playing some meaningful games!!!!
