When I was a newbie, which wasn't very long ago , I couldn't figure out what this "PM" thing was. Someone told me that he would PM me about something, and I waited and waited, expecting to see this IM box appear.

Believe me, I waited a looooooooong time...

I finally figured it out though.

Oh, and for my very first posts, I was so scared about replying to a topic that my hands actually shook as I was typing up my post.

When I was a newbie, mt added me to his Wu list. So I reciprocated, and for the longest time, I was waiting for something to happen, like his posts to light up in green and falsh at me when I saw them. I didn't know what watching was.



More recently, I sextuple posted. In this last week. Impressive, no?

 

LOL! Once I did seven or eight. The Error message kept appearing and I thought my reply was never posted.

I hit that reply button 8 times!

But now I have learned the ways of the Error Message. If you see it, do not fear!

Actually, I know that, since I've done it before. But, I wanted to see how far I could go.

 

I remember when I came here thinking it was a Star Trek forum.

Ahh, memories. That was the first sign I was becoming senile.

I think the dumbest thing I have done so far as a newbie is get myself invovled in one of those highly-argumentitve abortion/religion/politics threads. I thought I had landed in a war zone! lol. So I posted once or twice and got attacked from all sides before I had enough sense to get out of there.

Why is this embarrassing? I wish I would have had the good sense to stay the hell away from threads like that.

I did a search for "love-triangle" in the Search function that existed on UBB at that time. Unfortunately, I must have typed "love-traingle" instead of "triangle" (I am still prone to doing it, but I'm being careful right now), so of course no results were shown. I didn't think that the JC being 2 years old at that time, would probably have many threads on that topic already, and foolishly just created another one. Oh well..
